seems kind of like the Euros don't really like the car

I wouldn't say that. The dude from Top Gear and Matt Prior were both in love with it.

The thing about any reviewer and their opinion on any car is that it will be tempered by their expectations of it. If at any point you grouse that you cannot use the car for daily driving applications (which I heard in the course of one of the reviews), you have totally missed the point and therefore of course you will be disappointed by it.

I can only speak for myself, but I want impractical race-bred lunacy for $500k. I want sense of occasion. The "well that's a very fast daily driver" experience is why you can buy a bunch of modern exotics at brutal discounts; because they are appliances for speed that lack character. Guys expect a raging beast and then complain the 720S is too quiet, comfy and civilized. Then they get a GT that's loud, brutal and raw, and they are upset it's not quiet, comfy and civilized. :lol

Very good interview. I especially can appreciate this from Chris:

“The Ford GT was a completely encompassing program and for me the highlight of my career. Being able to work on a product like this, and being able to do every single element of it, is a once in a lifetime experience I’ll never forget.

Under score added. Totally unheard of in todays team world. Personal Responsibility!

A job well done Chris. Thanks.

This is a no compromise car, it is all about going fast and nothing else, even the styling although beautiful is all about function and aerodynamics. Race cars are not generally comfortable because they are dedicated to going fast period. I am quite happy that some of the reviewers do not like the rawness of the car, that just means it is perfect for it's intended audience. The critics are not buyers and do not reflect the views of the majority of people that will own this car.
I can imagine that some of the celebrity owners will be shocked and disappointed if their frame of reference does not include track time in a truly high performance vehicle.

It's funny to me that no one has noticed it until now, even though it was plainly visible on the blue GT at the 2015 auto show!
I've learned more about this car in the last 12 hours than I did in the last 12 months!!

The one thing I think that the Brit/Euro guys seem to have gotten wrong is their conversion, (or lack of) money. In more than one review they seem to suggest the GT is nearly twice the cost of the new MAC. Even with that, it is looking more and more like in anybody's book, this car is a bargain.

Dave, incredible work gathering all these reviews at "stroke of midnight"! You never cease to amaze me! Now I don't have to try to find all these magazines ! I been glued to my computer last few hrs reading them waiting for my flight back from Miller motorsports park!! Just completed 2 days of driving mustangs and RSs. Unfortunately all the GTs left the day before. You can imagine all the excitement amongst all the instructors!! Especially those who got to drive it (and they have impressive credentials!). Best comment was how easy it was to drive it really fast!

If they are referring to residual values, then yes, the GT will probably cost 3-4x more in short order.

I like this quote from DeMuro:

This is just an amazing car, it really, really is.

It’s everything you’d hope that a car at this price point would be.

I drove the Aventador SV, which is also a half million dollars, this car makes that thing look agrarian.

I mean this car is so much more precise, and it’s just on a completely different level. It really feels like it is.

I know Doug (DeMuro)--he's a good reviewer with a nice following. And I think he's spot on--this car will ALWAYS be a class apart. A true homologation special, and when that Aventador is just another used Lambo (that you can buy half off), the NFGT will still have that sense of occasion!

It seems Ford gave the reviewers a DVD with clips and pics to edit into their reviews. You see a lot of the same clips appearing in the reviews. The bare supplied Ford material looks like this (so no talking, just a bit of car porn).

His review was one of my favorites. The passion he has for the car is evident.

So pumped about the car. Congratulations on you selected!! Hope to get chosen in 2018 or have to wait for one to come available in the secondary market!! Maybe it will be too hardcore for the nonFGT crowd.

Dave and Sinovac, love following your exchanges on Fchat.

It sure is interesting reading over this long thread. You guys have changed TheMayor's attitude and comments completely around. I bet he is going for a allocation in year4!

Thanks. There are a bunch of car nuts on Fchat who appreciate the NFGT even if they wouldn't buy one. Really, what's not to like if you're into cars? There are a few who have their heads up their rumps, but that's true everywhere. I'll never own a Ferrari, but I appreciate the cool cars they make.
