I think youre car would run 200 even without optimum conditions, due to the gearing, as lont as its not 110 deg:willy

you guys coming down for the next mile in march?, you know now they have side by side roll races going on from 1/4 mile mark to the 3/4 mile mark, its pretty cool they follow you with a truck that has a camera mounted on it and a motorcycle follow just behind(as a judge) to make sure no one jumps the gun:biggrin

soroush, can the motocycle keep up with your car? :lol

Must be something new. I've run over 200 at the Mile several times without a suit and no complaints from the organizers. I'll need to find out about this before I go back.:confused

Yea, that's what I've heard before so I went down unprepared. They were strict on suit, gloves, and fire extinguisher.

Gps?

My 206 MPH run was recorded on a Garmin GPS. Yes , The GT Speedos are off by about 6 MPH at 200 MPH.
We had a two mile Airstrip to run the cars. We were able to do a running start at the beginning of the 2 mile runway. It took more than a mile to get my Pulley and tune car to that speed.

Hope your Garmin is more accurate than mine :wink (just so there is no misunderstanding, I am NOT claiming this as a legitimate top speed, but it is an unretouched photo) Was trying to check speedo accuracy at the upper end of range, and the Garmin appeared to be a bit "optimistic" shall we say. I am told it is an older design that is not accurate at high speeds (um, yes).

My Driftbox matched the TX mile slips in the 3rd decimal place!

My Garmin seemed very reasonable up to 143 MPH but I didn't have anything to compare it too.

The Driftbox's datarate is 10 times per second, while most GPS units only do at 1 time per second last I read.

Congratulations to Kyle Wall, 17 years old, 202.5 mph and Jim Guthrie, a little older 210.7 mph both in Jim's 05 silver GT. Additionally, Kyle ran 187.6 mph in his Red 05 GT which is completely stock.:banana

I thought you had to be at least 18 to participate? NASA rules?

Texas Mile

Runs were done at the Texas Mile. I'm not sure what the rules are for nasa as a sanctioning body, however, the website for the Texas Mile states all participants under the age of 16 must have a minor waiver signed. When we arrived it turned out to be a typo on the website and waivers are for all those under 18.

LOL...no, that speed would exceed the speed rating of the av-tires. They are only rated to 160 knots. :lol
