It seems like it matters a lot these days for values. I am still hunting for a car and found the following.

1) Heritage - commands the most premium

2) Yellow - If I remember correctly, never commanded a significant premium but these days, it is commanding crazy premium now

3) Blue and Black - seems to be more popular

4) Tungsten and Silver - not hot.. for some reason

5) Red and White - For strange reason, they always go for lower price

Does this sound about right?

Yes, the Heritages seem to command the highest prices. The others seem to me more random. I guess it depends more on who shows up to bid and what they’re looking for.

I did a lot of research... unfortunately... being a lurker for 3+ years. I am not sure about yellow but

1) blue and black
2) silver and tungsten
3) red and white

these 3 groups definitely show a hierarchy. At least 20k difference in similar condition/mileage. Just my observation.

With the Heritage and Yellow outliers, that hierarchy is pretty much exactly how it was a dozen years ago when I was looking.

I paid a 10% premium to get blue.

very true. Blue and black always command a premium and red/white always come with a discount. I saw you on BaT

My son has heritage, mine is red. Other than our bantering about what color is fastest, they are all the same color on the inside. They are all the same fun, inside and out.

Some of your findings directly correlate to the production numbers...... More production, lower price (red is #1 both years)..... less equals more. With the exception of heritage, which was #2 for 2006. No stripe adds as well.

Buy what you want.

I agree with the above comments just pick the color you like and buy the car. It’s truly a wonderful car. The only value that matters,is
your enjoyment!

Buy the color you like! Heritage different range and always will be!
3 mile black GT on BAT! How can you have only 3 miles in 15 yrs??!!! Even less than recent NFGT ( 9 miles) sold on BAT!!
I would be worried about seals etc.

Color is a powerful motivator indeed, however, I made my purchase decision based on mileage first and foremost. I wanted a car with higher miles (and subsequent lower purchase price) so that I could drive it and not worry about adding miles. I wound up with a white car and although it was my #3 color choice, the mileage and price was the deciding factor. If I hadn't pulled the trigger 2 1/2 years ago on my white car, I'd be sitting here with my thumb up my butt still looking.

Ha! (y)

I was gonna add that I think mileage matters more than color. And date: The past year seems to have been a big increase. Maybe ~$50k on average.

I agree. At least a $50k increase across the board in the past year and you should see the prices up here in Canada. It's just crazy.

I feel so fortunate that I bought my car out of the US in March 2019 and brought it home in the fall of 2019. Most of the good cars available for sale at fair market value are in the US. If I would have waited, Covid would have hit, the Canada/US border closed and prices on our cars jumped big time. If I didn't pull the trigger in early 2019 I believe my GT dreams would have been squashed.

Seize the day people. Make your GT dream a reality cause ya never know what's around the next corner.

11 years ago prices were at nearly msrp {except for the Heritage} for low mileage ones. I looked long and hard and settled on white. At 172k out the door with State taxes I have not looked back.

Yes indeed. I started looking 9-10 years ago when many cars were selling around MSRP for low mileage, and below MSRP for those that were driven regularly. Then realized I needed a bigger garage, so I put off the purchase until I bought a new house (with 5 garage slots) in late 2013. Then I started looking again in January 2014. Prices had already jumped by 30-40K or more. When I found mine in April 2014, I probably paid $50K more than if I had bought it the previous year.

Moral of the story: As others have said, if you want one and can buy it now, do so. If you wait, they may be even more expensive.

Ouch ... $50k more, and another year of ownership missed. Double whammy.

But sometimes it's just not in the cards ... yet.

White w/blue must be the most valuable cause I haven't seen a price I'd let mine go for! Plus, they can fly. (not my car pic but working on it!)flying.jpg

Yep, this mirrored my goals and buying experience. I wanted a white car, but couldn't pass up a sub-$200k red one (2nd choice) with 28.5k miles (added 2,800 more miles in the past 19 months).

When I was buying (late 2019 to early 2020), there was a 10% premium on blue. Tungsten maybe a few % more than white & red, and yellow and black cars just sat (I would have loved a yellow car but already had a yellow car). Did not see any silver cars for sale in that time period.
