Hillary is not popular with the rednecks. (Remember the "Hillary for President" on the side of James May's Cadillac!)

She was here in Hattiesburg last week before the primary and a friend of mine at her rally (a preacher no less) was mistakenly roughed up by Secret Service because they were visibly nervous and edgy that some yahoo idiot would try something.

I recently saw a clip from the Borat movie - anyone seen that? - anyhoo, he was pretending to be a gay dancer at a rodeo (from memory) and was nearly attacked, lots of shouting of abuse and spitting on him. Nothing too shocking there, but it's funny how stereo-typical certain areas of the world can be.

Yes JC does take the piss out of most nations, including our own, particularly as the world lurches towards the minority groups having more rights than the majority. The 'majority' in any country can best be described as 'Middle England' or 'Middle America' i.e. those of a moderately conservative nature, hard working, 2 kids, taxpayers. These are the groups who are being screwed by the government and by the minority groups because prefer not to speak up.

I watched every Clarkson FGT video I could find before ordering my GT. In fact, he is probably the biggest reason I bought one. Thanks Jeremy!

Me too :thumbsup

Hal, I spent the day with Clarkson not so long ago (Pheasant shooting) and I put him straight on the reliability of the GT from my perspective! :biggrin
I chatted to his wife about it at a charity bash a while back. She believed the problems were real but it would have been rude to push the point and to be honest the truth of what it did and why will never be known.

I will say in the year I've owned it nothing has gone wrong... Maybe he just worked all the bugs out of the system for me. Cheers!

Maybe the karma wasn't right with your GT and Jeremy. I think he knows his old car "does work" though after its' splendid performance on the Isle of Man for Top Gear...:thumbsup

Jeremy Clarkson IS the reason I bought my GT. Watching the last 10 minutes of the Good, Bad and ugly when he takes the GT around Willow Springs did it for me.

And it was not the slides, the look or what he said. It was his face, his enthusiasm and utter joy at driving the GT.

I had loved the GT since it came out, and the GT40 is an iconic car that even if we were not born in the Sixties we all know.

Clarkson just nailed it for me and it became an obsession.

I could not go to sleep without thinking about the GT. I was like a spoiled child that was not getting what he wanted.

I hated myself and so did my wife, who eventually caved in and "allowed" me to buy the car...

As per JC as a journalist I think he's great. I love him because he could give a rat's ass about what is PC.

I am a 911 guy and he's absolutely right about everything he says of the 911. He hates it for that, I love it for those "faults".

I'm right with you Teo, JC also sold me on the car, thank God for You Tube since we only recently got BBC America. Every Top Gear gets TiVo.

My wife and daughters are mortified, so I watch it while they watch that idiotic Amercan Idol. :ack

Although, I must admit, Simon can really drive...

And look 'WHAT he drives! 'Happened to be channel surfing and hit on the exact moment some "report" showed him driving into a parallel parking place in a Veyron.

(And he actually LEFT that car in that parking spot and strolled on into the studio (or whatever it was) with the "reporter" & cameraman. :ack)

Simon has the best time in the Top Gear Celebrity Challenge.
