I got the floor mats from Andrew at Exotic CAre and hesitate to remove the original rubber mats which seem to be glued. I am afraid Iwill damage them by removing. So, I just laid them on top of the rubber which is OK and I guess will settle in place more over time. ANy suggestions or thoughts?

Arya, You can remove the floor mats! Don't be afraid. They do come out!
Some of the mats have leaked some adhesive that is used to put them together.
Which at times makes them a bit tight or seem to be stuck in place.
You won't do any damage removing the mats.

Even suggested once you do remove the mats, give a little vacuum to the area under the factory mats and maybe a wipe of any grime or glue.

Email or contact me if any issues.

Andrew

The rubber mats are not glued in. After being exposed to normal heat, the glue that holds them together seeps out and makes them sticky. I, too, have Andrew's mats over the rubber ones. It works OK, but they don't shape well to the rubber vertical contours.

Thanks Andrew for quick reply. Will do. I also programed my new KEY/remote which you sent me and love it and is a must for GT owners. I also beleive that the HotButtons I got from you really make the interior the way it was supposed to be. I think the seat rings are a definate must for the GT. Thanks and keep us posted on all your new stuff. :cheers

I just hard Ford warranty my mats. They separated from their interior foam. Ford rep had to come out and inspect them first so Ford MoCo is getting pretty tuff on warranty stuff. When I got the new Ford mats in I immediately used a higher quality 3M adhesive on them as they were poorly sealed together also.

You are luck to still have the warnty. Mine expired last month but I was luck to document defective headlight before it but they are having trouble getting headlight and I hope they do soon.

Atomic,

The trouble with your custom mats, is that they are too beautiful to put your shoes on! I would need mats to protect those mats!! :ack Those are really cool in any event. How much and where do I get them?

Some stuffed called "Super Trim Adhesive" by 3M. Part# 08090 The guy at Napa said it was the best stuff.

Yea, the problem with those is that you'd need mats for your mats...

HHGT put the info up. Price was a little over $2200.00 I actually place a Mini Cooper S car mat over the driver side, no one rides in the passenger side. Bony also bought a pair for the white FGT. I believe he did the same thing. Pretty easy to cover the mat with another mat. Keith Collins is the son of one of my colleagues, has been doing custom car mats for 35 years. Did the ones for Arnold's hummer. Each mat is cutom made and never the same.

he also did my SSG viper.

KJRGT

Was out with the 66 Shelby going down PCH with daughter at Temescal and there was a Tungsten ahead of me south of Gladstones, thought it was Woboose, but could never get along side of him, had out of state plates. Anyone know who this was cruising down Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica this afternoon?
