First Drive

ok - thanks...

Must be extremely uncomfortable driving like this. I foresee in a few years time a company developing a carbon guerney bubble that can be molded in with cold cure.

It's actually OK -- not much different to the race seats I have in my track cars, with no cushion.

I plan on installing a thin pad of foam backed Alacantra, mainly to resist slipping when not wearing a harness.

Or you can get special underwear made with a pad of foam in it! LOL

Are you talking about adult diapers? He wouldn't even have to make pit stops.

A hard carbon seat, okay. But this one has balls piercing bolts sticking out of the base. Only an experienced fakir would call it OK.

Thanks for the link!

At the dealer for the first oil change after just over 700 miles. A few shots of the underside with the rear belly pan removed:

Spin on oil filter vs the cartridge style on the 05-06?

Gojaks to get high enough for the lift arms?

Fantastic pics, thanks!

Yes spin on filter.

Gojaks help with centering car and positioning lift arms on Aluminum jack points.

Put the cover on briefly. Very nice quality and soft on the inside:

That liquid blue with alloy stripes has got to be the mostest greatest color 2017 combo of all time!

A few things... Dang, the new GT even looks awesome covered up!

Is M1 Productions a DBK production?

Is the M1 event at the the Ford facility we visited at one of the Rally's?

That cover is GT spandex!
SEXY!

The approach angles are excellent on the car. You may not have an answer to this since you're still breaking in the car, but I'd like to know if you want to naturally shift the car as it approaches redline or does it seem to hit the redline too soon.

The damn computer certainly shifts up gears faster than I, or any human can, and probably at the optimum point. On the flip side, in normal or sport mode, when in a higher gear, and slowing down, I tend to hit the downshift paddle before the computer downshifts. I'm sure I'm getting worse gas mileage that way. Also, for about twenty seconds after paddle shifting down it stays in manual mode, so if I've downshifted to floor it, have to remember that i'm controlling shifts. Forgoing paddle shifting, and punching it, surprises every time.
