Ok Folks,

I am pleased to announce that a very good friend of mine, and fellow member of the USAS 200 MPH Club will be hosting a new One Mile acceleration event at Mojave Air and Space Port, Mojave, California on March 6th, 2010. The course covers 12,000 feet, so there will be plenty of space to slow down after the run up to speed. I will be running my Ford GT and really hope that the Ford GT Forum will give this venue a lot of support. That is the only way we can keep things like this going.

I certainly hope to see a bunch of my GT School alumni there.

Here's the list of suspects for the Mojave Mile Shootout:

OK Folks,

I don't expect that the rules will be any different than any other Mile Run venues. I will post a link as soon as I can and will provide further details when they become available. I know you will need a Helmet (probably Snell SA2000) and you might need racing harnesses. Beyond that I will have to wait for the rules to be posted.

i look forward to seeing you and your GT there :cheers will the event be setup just like the "HIGH Roller shootout" from last year at Nellis AFB where you have a target speed to achieve in order to win your class?

Fast Freddy,

I did not participate in the High Roller at Nellis, but I would expect that they will do something similar as it is the same people. As to the Big Bend event next year, I will also be running that event and if they let me run Unlimited ( I've never run there before) I'll be bringing my 700 hp Camaro. If they ask me to run a slower class I will bring the GT.

i see that the runway is just over 2700' above sea level :thumbsup

with the weather that they get in the first week in March this should produce a lil faster times than what we had at Nellis AFB last year as it was hotter than hell at that race. does anybody know how the winds are at this runway?

the Texas Mile gets some pretty strong headwinds......
