First, thanks to Gary (Fyr-FtrGT), Don, and the rest of the great folks at Safecraft for coming up with this concept. Thanks too to Texas GT for promoting and orchestrating the Group Buy. Shadowman is also making key contributions to this collaborative project.

There will be a minimum of two kits available and each of these kits may have some options - at least in the Group Buy phase.

Kit 1: Cool Tech Transaxle Cooler equipped cars (& cars with no Transaxle Cooler)

Kit 2: Ford Transaxle Cooler - equipped cars

Shadowman is currently working on the mounting and line routing options for the Ford Transaxle-equipped cars. I would anticipate that there is more information about this option very soon from Shadowman.

For the Cool Tech Cooler cars, I have been working with Don at Safecraft on a recommended configuration and complete installation kit based on a new, less conspicuous, line routing & nozzle orientation. In this updated design, we have eliminated the line routing in front of the pulley and behind the rear glass. In fact, the line routes to the driver's side of the car via the opposite end of the engine and exploits un-used threaded bosses on the back of each head to secure the line using supplied adel clamps. The result is that the installation is much more transparent but with no loss of effectivity.

Here are a couple of pictures:

Notice that the nozzle is now mounted below the square support bar and the line routing is going toward the rear of the car.

In this next picture, you can see the nozzle on the driver's side of the car, also mounted below the square support strut. Note that the material of the clamp on the square bar is made of Delrin. It will NOT scratch the support strut.

Finally, here is a picture of the line routing with the supplied adel clamps. The line lengths have been custom-made for the GT and are absolutely perfect. This new line routing is very secure and very stealthy.

In summary, the kit for the Cool Tech Cooler equipped cars is complete (from a design and component perspective) and will be shipping very soon from Safecraft. Although the "standard" group-buy kit price would still be honored from Safecraft, Cool Tech recommends the following configuration at a marginally higher additive cost:

1. 5+ lb White Safecraft Cylinder (overkill upgrade over the 3lb bottle)
2. Valve on the Cylinder. This allows you to route and install the lines and subsequently "arm" the system by opening the valve when the install is done.

Custom Ford GT nozzle mounts, braided stainless lines, fittings, mounts, clamps, and hardware will also be included in this kit.

For owners who have not previously contacted Safecraft for the Group Buy, this custom Ford GT kit will be sold by Cool Tech who has become an authorized Safecraft dealer. The Cool Tech website will be updated in the next few days to offer this complete solution for on-line ordering.

Finally, for owners that are interested in a Fire Supression Kit and who have neither the Ford Transaxle Cooler or the Cool Tech Transaxle Cooler, please PM me. I would like to get a show of hands of those that may be interested in a custom cylinder bracket that uses the factory cooler mount points so that no drilling is required.

Soooooooooooooo ...how the devil are the people who've ordered the "std" kit suppose to be able to arm THEIR system w/o this "option"(he asked w/o seeing the std kit yet)??????:shrug

Great question and thanks for asking. I want to emphasize that neither Safecraft nor Cool Tech is trying to bait and switch or wiggle out of any committed Group Buy pricing.

The previously communicated "standard" kit comes with a 3lb cylinder and the lines are already attached and charged. This was the communicated Group Buy price and it is still a viable option from Safecraft.

My personal recommendation (and also what I will run on my car) is the upgraded 5lb bottle and the valve. The valve affords you a little more install/uninstall flexibility in that you can close the bottle (and lose the agent in the lines). Neither of these recommendation are requirements... I'm just giving my recommendation based on touching/feeling the kit.

Don's (Safecraft) opinion is that the larger cylinder is unnecessary - reminding me that a 747 uses a 5.5lb bottle per engine and they are *slightly larger* than the GT engine :eek But, for me the larger bottle fits with ease and there is only a delta cost because of the add'l agent.

Don's opinion is similar to my own on the inclusion of the valve. I think it will add ~$50 to the cost so you be the judge if the added flexibility is worth it or not.

I would selfishly like to keep the number of variations to a minimum for order simplicity, so the "kit" from Cool Tech will come with the larger bottle and valve. There will be an option to add a bracket if you don't have (or want) a Cool Tech Transaxle cooler.

I'll see what Shadowman comes up with for the Ford Transaxle equipped cars and I will likely also have that option available too.

Never intended to imply a "bait & switch" was afoot!:rofl
I was just puzzled as to how the devil that'd work on the std kit. Now I know IT DUZZUNT!
So, I'm now going to call Don and order the valve wicki-wicki. Long term that's the only way to go. Too much messin' around otherwise.
Thanks for the word, Kendall.

How about going around the rear but with the hoses on top of the rails?:lol

If you order the system without the valve, the lines will already be installed and under pressure so you couldn't fiddle with them. If you order with the valve (my recommendation) then you have more options including turning the nozzles over to mount on top if that is what you prefer.

Don has narrowed this thing down to 4 options for us to pick from and these will be posted with prices sometime in the next couple of days. I know that one option will be hard lines pre-fabbed like Shadowman's for us Cooltech guys.

BTW, very professional job Shadow. I'm impressed!:thumbsup

Thank you for the wonderful comment.

I commited to this process initially for the folks with the Ford Racing Coolers including myself as the means to fill the void after the stainless steel flex hose version was picked up by Kendall aka Cool Tech.

It was during this process that I agreed to create a final hard line setup for Don and his team at SafeCraft as well so that the process of duplication will be easier. The stainless steel hard line setup will work and fit exactly the same regardless of the transaxle oil cooler installed. The only difference in the end will be the bottle mounting system and the hose that connects the bottle to the primary system.

As I share this "BOTH" the stainless steel flex hose and the stainless steel hard tubing version will provide wonderful protection and peace of mind so in the end it is simply a matter of which style one likes better. I know many folks that love the flexible stainless steel hoses so I would not consider one better; just different.

FYI: I can not speak highly enough about working with Don, Steve, and Rocky at SafeCraft; to a person they are very easy to work with and willing to go the distance on this project.

I posted a few pictures of the final mock-up during which I used copper tubing last night in my thread about the Ford Transaxle cooler fire bottle mount in the Tech section. I will be bending the stainless late tomorrow.

Do a search on my threads as it is only a few days old.

All the best

Thanks, Bill.

You are welcome

I attempted to change the name of the thread to include the hard lines however the edit did not seem to work.

In any case I am going to post a couple more pictures of the Ford Transaxle cooler mount ready to be reinstalled in a few minutes

All the best

Shadowman
