First, thanks to Gary (Fyr-FtrGT), Don, and the rest of the great folks at Safecraft for coming up with this concept. Thanks too to Texas GT for promoting and orchestrating the Group Buy. Shadowman is also making key contributions to this collaborative project.
There will be a minimum of two kits available and each of these kits may have some options - at least in the Group Buy phase.
Kit 1: Cool Tech Transaxle Cooler equipped cars (& cars with no Transaxle Cooler)
Kit 2: Ford Transaxle Cooler - equipped cars
Shadowman is currently working on the mounting and line routing options for the Ford Transaxle-equipped cars. I would anticipate that there is more information about this option very soon from Shadowman.
For the Cool Tech Cooler cars, I have been working with Don at Safecraft on a recommended configuration and complete installation kit based on a new, less conspicuous, line routing & nozzle orientation. In this updated design, we have eliminated the line routing in front of the pulley and behind the rear glass. In fact, the line routes to the driver's side of the car via the opposite end of the engine and exploits un-used threaded bosses on the back of each head to secure the line using supplied adel clamps. The result is that the installation is much more transparent but with no loss of effectivity.
Here are a couple of pictures:
Notice that the nozzle is now mounted below the square support bar and the line routing is going toward the rear of the car.
In this next picture, you can see the nozzle on the driver's side of the car, also mounted below the square support strut. Note that the material of the clamp on the square bar is made of Delrin. It will NOT scratch the support strut.
Finally, here is a picture of the line routing with the supplied adel clamps. The line lengths have been custom-made for the GT and are absolutely perfect. This new line routing is very secure and very stealthy.
In summary, the kit for the Cool Tech Cooler equipped cars is complete (from a design and component perspective) and will be shipping very soon from Safecraft. Although the "standard" group-buy kit price would still be honored from Safecraft, Cool Tech recommends the following configuration at a marginally higher additive cost:
1. 5+ lb White Safecraft Cylinder (overkill upgrade over the 3lb bottle)
2. Valve on the Cylinder. This allows you to route and install the lines and subsequently "arm" the system by opening the valve when the install is done.
Custom Ford GT nozzle mounts, braided stainless lines, fittings, mounts, clamps, and hardware will also be included in this kit.
For owners who have not previously contacted Safecraft for the Group Buy, this custom Ford GT kit will be sold by Cool Tech who has become an authorized Safecraft dealer. The Cool Tech website will be updated in the next few days to offer this complete solution for on-line ordering.
Finally, for owners that are interested in a Fire Supression Kit and who have neither the Ford Transaxle Cooler or the Cool Tech Transaxle Cooler, please PM me. I would like to get a show of hands of those that may be interested in a custom cylinder bracket that uses the factory cooler mount points so that no drilling is required.
