trying to track the Final Ford GT Sales

Based on the Ford web site retail sales link:

144 '04 Sales
1302 '05 Sales
1365 '06 CYTD Aug Sales
150 '06 Sept sales [Est]
301 International Sales
25 Ebay (New)
201 Autotrader* (New)
------- =
3488
-------(-)
4038 Total Production
------- =
550 Unsold
===

This means ~500 are in transit or in additional unadvertised dealer inventory -- did i do this right or double or undercount??

As of 6/06 Centerpunch had ~600 in dealer inventory which I assume was a rolling #, which stays ~constant till like last 5 cars at Wixom.

*Autotrader has another 89 cars listed as not new, used or untitled but with high mileage (ie, dealer toys/demos that may never sell)

That seems to indicate that there are 776 cars FS?

Yup 776 total; with 550 we have not seen yet/advertised.

Still a larger # than i expected; however, I never see another near my zipcode with the wheels I want, @ MSRP, so glad I am a owner!

You're really close. I saw the number a few weeks ago and it was exactly 600 left. They were selling about 30-40 a week I think, so a few months supply left. I can't vouch for how many of those remaining cars are actually for sale though, as I suspect some of them will end up remaining in the dealers hands forever...

I am still at shocked at this #. In July based on the fact that production was stoping in Aug, I thought at best there were 200 cars out there, given the 600 rolling inventory and monthly sales stats, and 300 to canada.

I clearly got caught up in th buzz!

Glad though I bought in July, as buying a car in Fall / Winter is less fun (except for-xmas day) & I have no time in the last quarter b/c of business.

if you are lucky and find the exact car jump on it; but, dont settle for less (ie, color, price or location)

Here is a copy/paste from the Oct. 03, 2006 Ford press release:
Ford GT
Sept 2006 133 vs. Sept. 2005 176 (-24.4)
1,498 (YTD 2006) 772 (YTD 2005) +94.0
I'd say there are 643 new cars FS (and a few used ones).

I can't vouch for how many of those remaining cars are actually for sale though, as I suspect some of them will end up remaining in the dealers hands forever...
I agree that several Ford dealers kept a car. I doubt you ever see some of them again (until the owner's Estate sale).

However, if the market price of the car starts eroding, you may see some of those "kept" cars go on the market (it happened on the '93, '95, '00 Cobra R's).

They reported that they sold 800 Shelby GT500's in Sptember. Those are flying out the door!

The market price eroded because those cars were replaced by better performing models. A lot of Dealer principles that kept cars for themselves never reported them sold. Also once a car lands in dealer inventory, Autotrader automaticlly posts it on line in dealer stock at "MSRP" weather or not it is spoken for or not. That did not help keep values up in the begining. People would see a car on there at "MSRP" only to find out the Dealer was charging a premium, or the car was already spoken for.

That still would seem to be a good pace of sales, if consistent, then in 6 months, I would hope that almost all existing realistically priced inventory has gone to private sellers. I'd have to guess that some dealers plan to keep one for themselves...

Wow! 261 New GTs sold in Nov; only <382 New GTs left

Sales are highest all year, and 2x, 2yr. monthly avg.

Oct. New GT's: ~643

(-) Nov. Sold: (261)

New GTs available: ~382

--------

Autotrader has 125 New GTs (30 untitled 2005's w/ <25 mi.)
Ebay has ~ 15 New with less than 25mi.

So, 240 in Dealer inventory or unadvertised

looks like 2 months sales left, w/ year end bonus, holiday, '07 push

#s
------------
144 '04 Sales
1302 '05 Sales
1861 '06 CYTD Nov Sales
301 International Sales
15 Ebay (New)
125 Autotrader (New)
50 Dealer toys/demos

This is good news! Nice to know demand is strong and supply is dwindling.

Did you listen to the sales conference call this morning?

Thanks for keeping on top of it, and sharing the information.

I'm anxious to hopefully soon see all the new cars out of dealer stock and into the hands of private owners. Looking forward to greeting the new forum members too.

There's actually less than 382. Quite a few less. I have the exact number and what they are. Can't share though. :frown

I will listen to the transcript.

Our owner registry has been growing 2x as fast as well.

I will triangulate to the final sale.

I am est. 50-75 cars are in Dealer Principal hands.

Probably 200-250 left; 1-1.5 months sales

I felt like tripling that dealer toy category to like 150. The fact that there are 50 advertised dealer toys (>1000 mi.) leads me to believe its like 33% of the total (avg dealers remorse setting in after 6 -18 mos use)

Definitely. All the cars legitimately for sale should be gone by the end of January. I'm sure there will still be a few $250k dealer demos out there, but the supply is gettin thin!

This whole thread makes me want to buy another one before it is too late. Time to dump the F430 to make room in the garage. :wink

I would be willing to "store" the F430 for free. :lol

If there's a combo you're looking for I can find it. I had them pull a couple combos for me yesterday :willy

Wait, I'm confused now....on the prior page of this thread we decided that there were 643 left in Spetember, minus 102 sold in October, which made 541. Another 261 sold in November, which leaves 280, not 382....correct?

280 left, 150 in dealer's permanent collections, 40 a week being sold=====> none left by Christmas!
