I knew that I was posing a very convincing argument during dinner with you last Saturday night! Glad you can make it. Now I need to register myself, as I discovered that my registration never got through months ago!!!

The dinner conversation definitely pushed us over the edge. We were stuck on how to get the car out with the short time we have. We are doing the Mojave Mile the weekend before so we could not figure out how to safely get there in time with car in tow. After lamenting over this and talking with everybody we knew we would have to go to the Rally. The Moose's gave us the final solution as they are flying out without their car. We decided that would be the best for us being able to attend as we really are more interested in seeing all you wonderful people we love so much... (rationalization going on here to feel better about not bringing our car :biggrin)
I have been looking for a GT (mustang) to rent but so far have only been able to find a 6 banger. I wonder how it will do on VIR? :thumbsup

Does anyone know if you can attend only the dinner Thursday night and the panel discussion Friday? If so do you know if the price is any different?

GR, usually the price of the Rally is all inclusive. It has not been on a piecemeal or ala carte basis. This year we a have a little break in pricing for guests and spouses.

So with the number we're at, we're going to call registration closed on Sunday. We're already squeezed pretty tight at the amount of people we're at, so if you want to come, please get your registration in over the next 72 hours.

We booked at the Umstead ages ago in hopes that we could go, but have just now gotten the loose ends tied up to allow us to go (the planets have aligned!). We are finally registered (just got in under the wire!). We are so excited and the dinner last weekend and Shane's to-do on Thursday for the Battle of the Supercars was a great pre-rally launch. Like Apollo, we are truly looking forward to seeing everyone - and meeting the newbies and the East-coasters that haven't made it to previous rallies. See you in a few weeks.

Jim,

The dinners on Thursday and Friday are included, all you need to do is show up and have a good time. The dinner on Tuesday night (for those of us who will be at the Hotel the night before the Wednesday Rally start) is not included. We divide the tab by the # of members present and everybody pays cash. :cheers

Do we have an itinerary of all the various events? I am trying to coordinate staying between the track and the Umstead to minimize back and forth, but I'm not quite sure how to make that work out correctly. Don't want to cancel any reservations until I figure it out!

If you really want to stay at the track, the only night I would do it is Wednesday. We are having dinner at the hotel or very close to the hotel on Thursday and Friday night. MAD IN NC and I made the drive between The Umstead and the track and it was about a 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minute drive, so it should be a great time surrounded by a pack of GT's without seeming too long.
