A couple threads got me thinking (I know, a miracle) about how we could make it easier to find the best and most relevant topics on all things Ford GT.

Several years ago, Oddball started a great thread in Ford GT Tech linking all kinds of great threads where people found out first hand the answers to all kinds of commonly asked, and not so commonly asked, questions. Alot of those threads have been superseded or buried or rehashed several times.

That thread is located here.

Just thinking how we can make the best info even more accessible, I'd like to start a new section in Ford GT Tech called "Ford GT - F.A.Q's" and copy all the best threads about every topic the Ford GT owners community thinks would be useful to have at hand. I'll clean up all the posts in the copied threads so it's just relevant to the topic. And then when new owners need an answer, or users just feel like reviewing something that has probably been discussed, they can have it all at hand without having to dig around and possibly sifting through 50 different threads that might just contain that particular word they put in the search.

I'm off to start copying, but if there is a thread on a topic you think is a must have, please let me know. If there are two or three great threads on a topic, I will copy them, and then merge them, changing the thread title to reflect exactly what it is about, making it easier to find if ever searched.

many thanks

Yes, a wonderful idea. And thank you for investing the time to consolidate all the info that is 'hidden' in all the past threads and posts on this forum.

As a new owner it is often a definitely daunting task to try to figure out what words to key into the search box to extract the info you're after.

As always, many thanks from those of us that are new to this gig and frantically trying to get up to speed.

Something to add....Oil

When our gals sit for a time and you go to start, I have noticed a 4 to 8 second delay in getting oil pressure. If you follow the procedure after an oil change and hold the gas pedal down when you activate the starter you will get 25lbs. in 4 to 8 seconds, then release the gas and presto, you start with pressure. Me thinks this might be better for our gals.............GO BLU

Great idea, Dave. Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend that unless your battery is on a Battery Tender or similar. The car sitting around will already have less than a full charge. Trading off battery and starter life for engine startup wear. I have know idea of which is better, except for driving the car so it isn't an issue.

Wearing out the $100 battery is probably a better idea than wearing out the $28,000 engine.

Here's an old thread listing "watch outs" for new owners:

How about some of the great DIY's that some have done like V1, short shifter, trans cooler, mac relocate etc.

And items that came with the cars.....

You are correct, I have both GTs always connected to Cooltech battery tenders.

Added new owner tips, looking for DIYs.

Radio removal / speaker change out
Tires / Wheels (not cold)
Temperature
Suspension (lowering, etc)
Misc aftermarket add ons (floor mats , cup holders, badges)
Electronic glitches
Early fixes (speedisleeve, a arms) Maybe in with the axle bolt
VIN decoding - Colors / Options numbers

Searching.

Also, if you guys have any particular posts that are really good on any of the topics, just point me to them and I can copy them to the relevant thread in the FAQ.
