Example of why this forum is so great...

The people you meet. About eight months ago I met Sinovac (Paul) through this forum. Turns out he lived ten minutes from my house. Last week Paul invited me over to his new garage/workshop to change my oil. He had done his twice, knew what he is doing, and has a commercial four post lift that is awesome. He also has enough cool tools to make a private shop envious.

So we spent yesterday afternoon changing my oil, getting to know each other better, getting to know the car better, and just having an overall great time. His young son Michael (14?) was also a terrific help, and helped clean the whole underside of the car. A very nice young man. Michael took some nice pics with my car on the lift. Maybe they can post one if they see this.

Our wives have met on a dinner outing, and we plan to get together again soon. Paul and his wife are really nice people with a nice family.

So thanks Dave, for the forum and a way to connect with other great people with like minded interests.

I second that! Many thanks to Dave for this great forum. I have met many nice people like Rick through this forum. At the last Cars and Coffee I met a surgeon that commented on how friendly the Ford GT owners are. Here is a picture of Rick's GT in my yet-to-be completed garage.

I am 53yo and I have never met such a great group of folks in my life. Amazing actually. When I grow up I want to be just like Chip Beck. I looked in the dictionary beside "gentleman" and there was his photo. Bony spends countless hours keeping this forum "clean", and not even for a penny in pay. DBK had the foresight to open this incredible place. I hope I never need Dr Franks services, but nice to know he is available. Many thanks to Matt (427 Aggie) for being a "class act". David (ItsOnlyMoney) taught me a thing or two about being "conservative" (I never use the term cheap) and I didn't think that was even possible. After all, I wrote the book on getting nice things at a great price. Still eating those 2 McDonalds apple pies for a buck he told me about. Chris (Silverbullitt) and Fred (Spirit) have spent hours listening to my bs. Anders (SFM6S006) allowed me to stay in his room and barely even knew me. Torrie (tmcphail) helped me with an issue and asked for nothing in return. Ed Sims decals are fantastic. Rich (GT Tech in Kingman) is a super guy. Sylvie and Darin(extxdps) are the pros at making glasses. I'm just not used to being treated the way you guys (y'all in southern lingo) treat me and I feel privileged and very grateful. I can only hope to be half as good back to each and every one mentioned. I am sure I have forgotten others as I'm old and senile, but thanks for allowing me to be a part of this community. Chris

Bottom line is that in a highly imperfect world the Forum is a place where like minded people can get together and enjoy the simple pleasures of owning and driving a unique piece of automotive history.

Add to that the "occasional" border skirmish over the best color, the best weather, the varying opinions on BMW's and of course the mileage of EP's GT are always handled in a humorous way that shows that a group of people can have fun without acting malicious. The car is just part of the good fortune we all have. :cheers
