Let me start off with I will only use the Ford recommened oil in my car BUT, I need to stir the pot. Bean counters have a lot to do with what is used in any product. So I am sure they had a say in what fluids were used as well as the lube techs. So what are the chances of a better quality oil being out there?

Thanks!

Thanks Chris and Ladams1!. As someone earlier pointed out, oil topics can be passionate with individuals based on personal experience. The topic can be polarizing. Just like whether you are a Ford or Chevy guy.

Studying the technical references and talking to the responsible engine design engineers lead me to the Motorcraft fluid position. Then too listening and talking to Fred Goodnow; knowing his drive and expectations from all his hand selected engineering team, the bar was set pretty high. I feel confident the thought and basis for a particular decision made on our cars was well researched, alternatives considered and the best option selected.

If you think that the correct viscosity oil is not a critical component for lifter pressure, try using a different viscosity oil and see what happens to engine performance.
