Congrats. It's a GREAT fuel option. Higher octane, cooling of the combustion mixture, and available at the pump at moderate prices.

Downside is you need to test it every time you fill.

The only reason to test it is if it was higher than E85 and my tune is now at 10.4 to 10.8 A/F so I have a little room for higher. Anyone that has tested it what did you find to be the % wrong either way ?

It's not uncommon here in OK to get e85 that tests e70.

is it more of a problem if there is higher alcohol content, or lower?I bought a testing kit off of Amazon for about 15 bucks, it is very easy to use.

Always make sure you tune with E85 the first time you tune... If it goes to e70 or e75 the car will run a little rich and It does not effect power that much on a supercharged or turbo car! If you tune with e70 and put e85 in it there will be a major lean condition.. You will never find anything higher than e85 at the pump and if you did it could maybe only be 1 or 2 points higher which would be no big deal! I have made 1272 rwhp with no detonation on e70 winter blend in my GT before. Also i make 1500rwhp in my GT and have been running the fuel for 4 years now! I have been using the fuel for 10 years next year! It is an amazing fuel for as much as everyone dislikes it for the high performance automotive world!!

We have a local station with e100...

I believe lower e content will run richer but also has lower octane...?

18psi twin 52s and JMS on full. I do not post Dyno numbers ever. Always brings controversy. We made 100 more than the base pull changing 4 things. Crank pulley/ headers / E85/ and timing. Could not finish because my injectors were at 100 percent duty cycle. The real issue is not power but getting it to the ground. I did some vbox runs tonight with a 225lb race buddy and we are 15ft shorter from 60 to 115 mph but our 0 - 60 times are slower. My tire pressure was 23 not the normal 19lbs I run to launch good. I will be testing this week. I am racimg a MClaren 12c next week. More power is not always better unless you are a Dyno queen. I am not and if I have to pull power out of it I will.

Yes you are correct! E50 will support 900rwhp.. Also you must not be in the us as only way to get e100 is from a ethonal plant threw some paper work or back door activity as you can drink it.. e98 is how it leaves to the gas blenders from the ethonal plant!!

Ha! I was going to mention Everclear. If you recall your high school and college chemistry, alcohol absorbs water (the experiment is to take some alcohol and add water and watch the combined volume stay the same). The reality is that 100% alcohol only exists for a brief period of time (while it is in the still). Once it is exposed to air it starts absorbing water molecules. I think they figured Everclear was close to 98%+ when bottled but their claim of 95% allows for some air.

I wonder what the pure alcohol burners claim their fuels are...
