Dyno Time

Dave the GT500's airbag look similar the the FGT's with the exception of the emblem.

Is that a new SHO behind your lunch?

Yes Frank, that is a new SHO. Livernois always has alot of reasonably new stuff around the shop. They end up doing some development work with OEMs and they are only 10 minutes from Ford WHQ.

This was just before GT500 on GT500 crime occurred :lol

Great stuff........

That's incredible. Does it put the power down to the ground nicely, or do you get "hop" on acceleration?

Haha that is bad ass! Man these things are going to make 700 rwhp with the stock blower and a little work no problem!

You know, it's hard to say for me because I got mine on the perfect day. It's easy to say the traction is pretty good when it's 86 degrees outside. I left Camilo's place at around 10:30 last night and it had cooled considerably and the car definitely spun the tires good when I hammered it in first, but it was surprisingly planted hammering 2nd. When it was hot out, it wouldn't really spin second if you rolled into it.

If you remember John Pfeiffer from Ford GT days, he does alot of the drag strip testing for GT500, and we were talking yesterday about how surprised I was that you could scoot pretty good off the line in 1st on a warm day. Even with the 285s, I think the 3.31 gear does a good job keeping the car manageable for the street. It's definitely not a Ford GT, but it does a lot more ability to put the power down than the KR did. I think you'll like it when you inevitably buy it. :lol

Dave, does the new GT500 continue the Goodyear F1 (or descendents) tires?

It's got Eagle F1 G:2s on it. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better tire than what's on the stock Ford GT. If Goodyear would make this tire in FGT size, which they aren't inclined to do, I would happily run them on the GT.

Well your car is famous Dave....this has hit the internet too....

Very impressive! Seems like pulley, intake, tune they will be besting 2.9L Whipple Equipped GT500s of previous generations not bad! If I can find one maybe I'll pick one up also!

95 miles, 601 rwhp, 584 rwtq. More pulls coming. HOT today.

DBK, your Shelby is a bit down on power....http://www.autoweek.com/article/201...T500__Autoweek_TV&utm_campaign=aw AutoweekTV :wink

The ford dyno i believe looks to be a dyno jet 248, The dynojet dave tested his car on looks to be a 224. They do read a little different, not to mention a million other variables!

P.S. Dave that color looks absolutely sick! Good choice.

I went over to that dyno after Livernois and my car made 613.9, so technically I'm UP on power. :lol
