Last AZ Ford GT Rally we had a nice caravan of about 6 Ford GT's (combination of new and old) driving in the morning and arriving at the AZ Rally in time for Chip's party.

I'm probably going to drive again this year.

Anyone else interested? LMK. We stopped for lunch mid way and of course a couple pit stops for gas and break.

It was fun.

We plan on driving as well. Still have not worked out the particulars. I'll touch base with you in a bit.

Depending on your departure time Jeff, maybe we can meet near PS for a fuel stop on our way to AZ.

I haven’t decided which route I will take from WA yet. Are you all planning to go for Chip’s party the night before?

I drove from Socal to rally 13 and back and discovered a few new things about my 2019.

Maintaining a speed of 65 will result in a mpg of approx 27 mpg.

Why the gas guzzler tax?

Computer will reset showing a 330 mile approximate driving range.

After going around a curve on a hill coming onto a jack knifed semi truck loaded with damaged Golf Carts blocking the right lane and running through 500 ft of debris the tire pressure monitor is invaluable.

It was a fun drive and I would go anywhere in the NFGT.
Not able to go this time however I would join you all for the drive if I was.

27MPG? That's impressive. The best I can do in my 2005 is 24MPG, holding it at 70 or less, on level highways. If I run it up closer to 80, MPG drops to around 22.

Jeff, I'm looking at working my travel plans to arrive in PS and drive to Chip's with the group. If it works out, I'll arrive late afternoon of 27th. Are you two available for dinner? Also, recommendation for moderate price hotel/motel in your vicinity would help.

I'm planning to drive out from So Cal / Orange County area on Monday morning, and make it to Chip's Party.

Jeff, hit me up if you have a good place to meet in the morning near Palm Springs that coordinates with Orange County. I forgot which gas station we started from last time.

Pete K - what time were you looking to meet up in Palm Springs from WA?

Anyone else interested in making the drive from WA? Orange County, CA? Palm Springs?

We can coordinate specific meeting places and times off the forum. But would like to get a basic sense of group interest as we're just days away from the fun!

Pete K and Jeff, I will message my cell phone for ease of communication.

Randy - We met at the Arco Gas station in North Palm Springs. East bound on I-10 take the Indian Canyon exit. The Arco is north of I-10 , maybe 2-3 blocks. Easy in and easy out. At this point Chip's is exactly 300 miles and give or take about 4- 1/2 hours.

Hi Pete. Good to hear. 1200 miles (20 hours+-) from Renton to Palm Springs. Hotels are all over the place price wise, and it's the beginning of the "season". There's a Motel 6 near where we will be meeting from the Arco station. I-10 @ Indian Canyon . Basically a truck stop area, about 10 miles from where I live in PS. Much closer to me there's a newer holiday Inn express in Cathedral City. Pretty quiet area too. $100 per night.

Tip - After you get over the big Grapevine pass on 1-5, instead of connecting with 1-5 to the I-10, leave 1-5 onto the I-210. It parallels the 10 but is much easier to drive traffic wise. The 210 re-connects with the 10 close to San Bernardino. Just remember that you want to see heading east, the signage is decent but you need to pay attention.

Look forward to seeing you soon. Jeff
