Doran GT crash at Sebring

I'm down in Sebring for the ALMS race. I'm doing my first IMSA lites race this week in my WEST. Watched the ALMS cars today testing. Unfortunately the Doran GT had a pretty bad off today ....I saw it in the pits for a second. Hard to see. They'll get it back together no doubt by race day. Unfortunately I'm not sure I can say the same for the Lola.
Its pretty awesome being pitted right down the way from all these amazing cars.....I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

yeah pretty fun car to drive. I won race 1 and set a new race lap record...then on day 2 ....dicing for the lead I spun her into a tire wall. The good news is the two of us were running 3 seconds a lap faster than the previous day and gapped the rest of the west cars by about 20 seconds.
She'll be back in action by Laguna!

Beautiful car ! What class were you running at Sebring ? Was there a class
that ran on Friday ? I noticed in the pics it looked like Pro Mazdas and formula continentals, is you car considered a C Sports Racer ?

hey Steve
the class I run in is called the Prototype Lites. We are a mixed grid with L1 cars being the Elan DP02 which are theoretically faster than the L2 class (mine) which are all West WR1000 and WX-10 cars. For us its a stock sealed 1000cc motor class. Minimum weight of 1050 with driver and no fuel. I had to add 60 lbs of ballast to my car to make the minimum. We raced Thursday and Friday. In the SCCA my car is a DSR car which also has a 1000cc maximum displacement except we can run built motors which have about 25 to 30 horse more than the stock. The minimum weight in DSR is 900 lbs. So for me trying to run both requires a bit of planning and work. I did an SCCA event before Sebring...pulled the built motor...added ballast...put the stock motor in...and did a handful of other things to get her to IMSA spec. Now we need to reverse the whole thing for an upcoming SCCA double national. Then change her back again for the Laguna Seca ALMS race after that. Its alot of work but it sure is fun.
