I'm looking at a low mile 4 option red car. It only has around 100 miles, supreme condition. I couldnt find a flaw on it,. Asking $167K firm. Sound reasonable?

I also saw a red no stripe, 1k miles MSO title, mac delete, $160K. I'm not sure whether to add or subtract value for the mac delete and no stripe, its definitely rarer. I'd think this would give me some bartering room on the 4 option car.

Either way, I want to drive the machine, I'd hate to defile the 100 mile car, maybe should look for 2-5K car. Or should I just go for it and enjoy knowing I've put nearly every mile on her.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Don't think of it as defiling. Think of it as "saving from misery."

I would go with red no stripe.

3yrs of warranty has to be worth $10K; not to mention peace of mind.

I would find a GT that average 1K miles a year. I would really have concerns with the engines internals on a super low mileage GT.

These horses were built to run.

Warranty? Even thou there is still a MSO, I don't think Ford is honoring the factory warranty. If you are considering the NO stripe, I would double, triple check the factory warranty status & availability.

Good luck.

Have sold many sub 100 mile cars over the last year which people started driving regularly with zero problems. If taken care of correctly, there is nothing to worry about. Now, if put in storage and not touched or tended to for 6 years, Who knows....

MSO does NOT mean full wanrranty. A lot of people make this mistake. And, yes, there are still a few cars out there that have FULL WARRANTY, that WILL be honored by ford. These cars are sitting at the ORIGINAL FORD DEALER, who they were delivered to from Ford and have never been sold, retailed or warranty registered. If I private party has a Ford GT on MSO, the warranty started the day the original ford selling dealer showed the car sold out of their inventory.

The 100 mile car sounds like a fair deal if you are attracted to Red. I know your heart was set on Blue, so just make sure in the end you will be happy. It a fair deal. If its what you want, go for it. You will feel good knowing that you broke her in as you see fit! :)

If the red no stripe car that you are referring to is in MO, I bought that car last week. You don't have to tell that to the seller though. Good luck.

Shelby is very correct. A Car on MSO dosen't mean full warranty. When a dealer removes the GT from his inventory warranty will start. I'm sure there are some in inventory, original dealer, MSO GTs out there with full warranty, but be careful and double check on warranty through Ford Motor Co. Tomy

The red, "no stripe", "no Mac" would be my choice. No doubt about it. "No Mac" was a big selling pont for my GT, and I love the red without the stripes.

If its the one at fastlane, then yes. And good grab! Seems like a beaut. I am also looking at a no stripe in Dallas now as well, 3k miles, wants $155K. Would almost rather pay the extra $12k for the 100 mile car, not sure though.

Shelby, I was set on blue, but red was actually my first love on this car. Plus the blues seem to be going $20+K over, I'm not sure its worth it to me. I saw a red in person last week, and was even better than in person than I expected.

So I am looking at $155 3k mile red no stripe, $167K 100 mile striped red, and then at the top is the blue 2k mile for $175K. I wanted to spend under $150-160K, now its funny how your price point changes. "Oh whats another 10K to get what you REALLY want?" :lol

Have a Ford dealer run the vin# though Ford Oasis. I thought that I heard Ford started the 'warranty clock' back in August of 2010 on all GT's, inventoried or otherwise.

So SBR, when did the Warranty start, according to seller

Since fastlane is a dealer but not the original point of origin (Suntrup Ford) they were able to keep the car on MSO. As Shelby stated earlier the warranty started when Faslane took delivery in 05, which was no surprise to me.

While this has nothing to do with the asking price, the MSRP's for these two cars were originally

(1) for 4 option car: $156,945 in early 2005; $166,945 in late 2005 and 2006

(2) for no racing stripe and standard radio: $147,595 in early 2005; $157,595 in late 2005 and 2006

Only supplied as a reference point - has nothing to do with the value as perceived by the owner or buyer.

Congratulations Steve!! Glad it worked out.
You'll have to bring her out to Utah this fall.
