Yeah. They obsessed over her pretty hard during the race, annoyingly so at times.

Boring race, they were searching for stories.

Ron being a lesbian. With his wedding ring on.

What happened to the naugahyde (politically correct) white belt that Ron was wearing?

I thought it seemed pretty dull, but I'm not a major NASCAR fan. I do have to laugh when people get snobby about it. Every time I see 30 people driving 190 mph within a couple hundred feet of each other it blows my mind. That in ground cam view never gets old.

I prefer the shorter sprint races. Restrictor plate races seem to be just for the advertising media to spend the money they get from us for their prducts, as they are long and boring, but have a captive audience. The races are only active for the last 10-20 laps or so.

However, I do enjoy watching the NASCAR boys when they are on a road course, such as Sears Point.

Nothing I have the balls to do, even if it was only in a strait line.

I have been to only 2 Nascar races and they were both the 500. Like any other major event, you have to experience it once. It is so much different in person. I would go back in a heartbeat. TV does look for stories but the same thing happens in the Super Bowl and the World Series. You know you can bring your own beer? Yep...name one other major sports event you can do that. I was blown away. I am not a fan of the restrictor plate races but the event....oh yeah...did I mention you can bring your own beer?

The drivers hate super speedway races, particularly those with any talent. You rarely crack the throttle. The ones I have represented look forward to Daytona and Dega like a toothache. They say if you want to test skill try Bristol, Martinsville or Richmond. Even road courses are not as tough with the new trannys.

I was in my garage cleaning one of my cars and had the "turn left Olympics" on the tube. Background boring white noise till the last 3 laps. Then as usual all hell breaks loose. It's like a flat stage in the Tour de France...it all boils down to the sprint at the end.

So according to that (and it is my assertion) we should just:

1. Play two football games and then start the playoffs (with 8 teams and then the superbowl)

2. Play 3 hockey games, playoffs and Stanley cup.

3. Same with pro basketball. Entire season over in 4 weeks.

4. Ditto baseball.

5. College basketball and the March Madness gets to survive. Same with other college sports, esp. football which is much more interesting than pro (until we get to the professionally and profit oriented bowl games).

With this plan, the entire pro sports season would be over in about 8 weeks. Then we could get to babes doing curling in Jan and Feb and not have to wait until the winter olympics :)
