Unfortunately I will not be making the Rally this year, Prior engagement and conflict with the date. Sounds like a good time, have a great time.

Let's rearrange the car museum so that people can plan to fly in on Monday. That actually makes more sense. Arriving in CS at 3pm wasn't going to add much to the trip.

Me and Matt will take off Monday to deal with incoming trailers and plan for a group
This lets everyone else fly in on Monday as their schedule allows them.
Dinner on Monday night around 7pm.

Then Tuesday morning we all drive over to the museum (leaving around 9:30).
We come back to the trailers no later than noon and pack up.
Head out to CS aroud 1:30 - 2pm (grab a quick lunch along the way)
Arrive in CS around 6pm

Good Job!

Matt and Mark-
Sounds great!
Booked my flight into Dallas and will arrive on Sunday afternoon. Shelby is working the GT transportation trailer with Frank and Jtjim and can hopefully schedule an arrival of our cars on Monday sometime.
Mark the Dallas/CS itinery looks fine by me! Looking forward to seeing Dallas and the other GT owners again!

Yes, Matt is working out the details and should post up the information today. The Texas Department of Transportation is having a meeting there at the same time. That is why hotels are so booked up.

Ok I need some input.

We have choices.

1. I can book six rooms at a hotel online...the hotel says that they are booked up but the online may have a block they can't check that...its a risk that the rooms aren't there when we get there.

2. LaQuinta & Super 8 have rooms are $75 a night their ratings are a 3.4 and 3.2 respectively...They aren't bad hotels just older ones.

3. Mark suggested the Messinahoff Winery outside college station. 10 rooms that are themed and its a bed and breakfast.

What would everyone like to try? I need some input guys cause I want you happy..its a shitty situation with the convention and the one night no one has rooms..12 & 14 they are fine but the 13th is screwed.

I'm going to Google the winery and see what it's like. Nardo had some suggestions too, did you see those Matt?

OK, as Matt implied, the winery has rooms named Lancelot, Guenevere, etc., each with a different theme and furniture (more for lovers than car drivers). Minimum price is $150/night, but the meals are very expensive.

So, based on economy, and wanting to waste my money on better things GT, I choose the cheaper places, mostly the LaQuinta. They seem to be a little better overall.

I will go along with the group though if the vote goes the other way. Frank

The forum as a whole will be spread out all over town so I think we will see GTs at all of the hotels. I have booked my rooms at the Winery. It's a little pricey but it will make for something different.

Here is the Winery info:

I asked them to hold 5 room at the winery for a week or two. Just tell them you are with the GT group.

CS on Tuesday after the Sam Pack tour...so you can sleep in Kumar. The rally starts at the track outside CS on Wednesday so you can go to Austin any time you want.

And yes Tuesday the 13th is the day we need to be in CS.

Well, maybe I'm thinking winery now. Let me talk to IndyGT (who is not answering his phone) and I'll get back to ya'll.

What about luggage? Is it more of a pain to get to the LaQuinta or the winery?

I booked rooms at LaQuinta last week and have empty trailer for luggage that will be coming from Dallas on Tuesday to College Station and then on to Austin Wednesday PM. Should be pleny of room and I am sure we can park at the LaQuinta.

If LaQuinta doesn't have room then we can park it at the University PD lot.
