thoughts

what would be wrong with crome 20-22 on a tungsten 06,what is with this colour, does any one have aftermarket wheels with this couour

I do not have them yet......but I will be getting the Gennadi GTX-1 prototype wheels on my Tungsten GTX-1. If you look at their web sight or at the candy red gtx-1 you will see that they are chrome but have what I would call gunmetal highlights.

It's all personal choice. If you like it, then there is nothing wrong with it. I personally do not like chrome. If you are looking for more of a flashy look, then Chrome will work. There are a few reasons why $100K+ sports cars do not come with chrome wheels.

1: Looks cheap
2: Weighs more
3: hard to keep clean
4: takes away from the beauty of the car itself.

rocman, thanks

Generally on a sportscar, you will see less and less chrome. The extra weight with no performance benefit screams out bling bling.

Or "all show no go."

Certainly, a Ford GT with chrome wheels remains a monstrously fast and capable vehicle, but to the purist, it just looks kind of contradictory.

There is only one opinion that counts on what looks good on YOUR car...Yours. Pick what you like and have fun.

Only issue with tires is making sure your speed rating is reasonable.
SUV tires on a GT are not MY cup of Makers Mark.

But that is what makes it exciting! :biggrin

With my former GT, I would never consider tracking it or going over 150 with those wheels and tires. The biggest I would go is a 19/20 combo if they will be your only wheels.

With the wipple and other mods

Its not all show and no go.I have 1000 hp vipers Its fast very fast

That should look good. 4" rear lips will look great. I had 5" lips on mine.:biggrin

rocman 5'' looks great did you have to modify the car to fit the 5'' lip, hre makes the 5'' but you have to modify the car for clearance, i wanted the 5 but sorry i won't modify the car so 4'' it is

Nope. Iforged offers extreme forging, which gets you 1" more than normal. No modification needed, and it was a perfect fit. My GT was the first one they did, so they took all the measurements, and got me the most I could fit under the body. Never rubbed, and it fit perfect.

On my Z06 I have the Chrome wheels and the Stock wheels. People can hardly believe it's the same car when they look at pics in my office.

I can switch back and do for track days. I keep the stock F1's on the purdy wheels.

So, I can give the car two personalities. The chromes against the machine Silver is like it got dressed up for an event. The stockers with Slicks give it the badboy look. Personally I, I just bought the chrome re-pops so I had something to drive on and used my stockers for my race tires. The Chromes in this case were way cheaper than even a good used set of NOS wheels. It actually looked much better than I thought it would. My car guy buddies say I went Dub,Bling, etc, but the avg. guy golf buddy like the chromes better. To split the difference I prefer a polished wheel that is not chrome. It does not weaken the wheel or add weight. Just my .02.

Like Freeflyer said, Whatever floats Your Boat. That's why all the options exist.

Enjoy !, post em' up when they are on. I think it will look very rich on that color.

Here are the wheels I bought, just installed them. The screaming yellow zonker GT is not mine...

Video of what looks like the same car. Twin turbo with some other engine treatment. Smoked lenses. Closer shot of the wheels.

That is my friend Bobo's car from Hattiesburg. You can see the car better in my pictures in the photo gallery.

This car feels like it has a jet engine in it. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!:eek
