Can anyone tell me about the confirmation prototypes?

How many were built and were they all '04s?

Were they all the same?

Thanks,
Mitch

There were 15 "2004" CP cars starting with 4Y400004 and ending with 4Y400018. These were preceded by the original 3 workhorse vehicles and the 3 Centennial cars produced for the 100th Anniversary, so the 1st CP car would be the 7th running Ford GT prototype. The CP cars all had varying purposes and represented different steps toward production trim so they would not be all the same. For example, you'd get one for vehicle dynamics, for top speed, for emissions, etc etc.

Also FWIW, these cars are not certified for street use, even though a couple have some how gotten titles.

Confirmation Prototype

One of the Confirmation Prototypes, CP-4, chassis #007, has a title and is plated for the street. It's at Vintage Motors, Sarasota, FL. Shown here at a local show last year with my Tungsten GT. Not sure how they managed to title it.

I'm sure that Mark M. will be following this thread with interest. :thumbsup

I appreciate the information.
I was looking at #07 and curious if it was street legal.

Thanks again,
Mitch

I know that the powder blue one that was later painted Tungsten and then back to blue had a title when it was on EBay in mid 2012 (when it was Tungsten).
