Screaming Eagle is a great cult wine from one of the best vineyards in Napa. Goes for $1,000 + per bottle. The eagle will most likely not be flying this weekend. I'm down to about 6 bottles.

PPPOOOOOORRR JERRY, what is a lad to do, down to 6 bottles?? Come over and pick up a jug, I have a special 'BONY bottling' it's in gallon jugs that the DAGO red used to come in. OH! by the way, try replacing any vintage for $1k a bottle, you are not even close. :willy

How is Rich L doing?

Will be there sans a GT, but still looking forward to seeing all the events that week (& hoping you guys will get to do a lap around Laguna Seca). :biggrin

Bony, what the heck is a screaming Eagle?!?

MJ

If you can show me a valid driver's license you can drive my GT in the parade lap...

Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Abreu are the house wines of the FRESNO GT DRIVERS CLUB, they bring out the very best of the IN & OUT DOUBLE DOUBLE BURGER :party :club :party

Bony, I am so totally freaking out right now!!! I was going to go to bed, but I just can't. I'm WIRED! Almost afraid to log off as I'm afraid this post will disappear & I'll wonder if it was just a good dream. I feel like one of those people that just won an award & has to give a speech, but my brain has gone to mush. I need to go out & celebrate now! Gotta release some of this energy or I'll explode!!! :banana :cheers

Want to make sure we estimate the bar costs corrrectly. :biggrin

I'll be crashing a Lamborghini Party :party on Thursday night (secret's out, shhhh :rolleyes) with some Ferrari guys so if I'm still alive on Friday then I may see you for dinner. The GT should outrun the Lambos anyway so I should be able to make a clean escape. I may have some fresh Lamborghini paint smeared on my front bumber the next morning hehe. At any rate, I'll be at the show hopefully parked next to Bony :cheers

Hey Bony... I resemble that remark! :eek I may have hit the wall and totaled my Viper but the rush was well worth the broken ribs and sore back. I got a new Viper out of the deal too :thumbsup

By the way I was using frozen fruit do you think I should switch over to fresh. I thought fresh fruit would over power the flavor of the Eagle :confused

Jerry, I didn't mention any names... just someone on the forum,... glad you fully recovered... :wink that is why I want a CUP car, most likely with my weight it will have to be a dually. :biggrin

They keep the parade laps tight and slow to prevent excursions into area where 4X4's belong... :cool :tongue

I prefer fresh fruit, but light on the pineapple because of the high acid they contain, lots of oranges, mangos, strawberries, bananas and a little Eagle makes a great spritzer/power drink. Over the counter bar price =$400 with fresh fruit, if you insist on using frozen you could get away with droping the price to $398.75 and still cover your costs. :bow :rolleyes :bow Let me know when you fire up the AWSUM super blender powered by a Heffner Twin Blown Viper engine and I will be over for pick me up drink. :banana You do still take PayPal?

How is Rich doing today??

Screaming Eagle

I thought you guys were just messing around re: the cost of this wine, so I had to look it up...

"Screaming Eagle typically has only produced about 500 cases a year, selling to list members for $300 a bottle, though it was not uncommon for collectors and others to pay upwards of $1,000 to get their hands on one. At the Napa Valley Auction in 2000, a bidder paid $500,000 for a 6-liter of the 1992 vintage, the very first."

WOW! Someone paid 3 GTs for a 6 L bottle - THREE!!!!! That's CRAZY!!!! :lol

Bony, I was going to buy you a drink or two for my b-day present, but now I've changed my mind... I'll splurge on the burger, I mean dinner, & you get the wine... :biggrin

One question... what does "slow" mean for the parade lap? My definition of "slow" tends to be different from many people's... :rofl

I like Jerry's response better. :biggrin 50-60 works. Don't worry Bony! I can show you piccola's "slow" prior to the races & then you'll be very happy going only 50-60! :lol

Heritage Bruce... you may find something outside of Monterey. Maybe in Seaside or Sand City. Most places in the area may be booked up and they raise the rates during the Concours weekend.

If you are bold you will find a room without a reservation, but you will pay silly money. Get on the travel search engines, do check Castroville, Watsonville, Salinas. The only time the Monterey area is busier during the year is for the ATT tourney.
