Wow, don't let that little girl get away. That is amazing independent thought and insight. Maybe she actually doesn't sit in front of a TV or video game or computer all day long.

I bet she would have a "MEDUSA" license plate..

Half of the people I meet are excited about the exotic looks of the car & some of them even know the history of the the GT40. The other half only want to know how much it costs & what I do for a living. They don't care about the car at all. I love those enthusiasts though! They make my day.

Sounds like the same little girl in that "Dark Angel" Mustang commercial. Love that commercial, I always rewind.

A lot of younger people come up to me at shows and say they have only see a Ford GT on their “Gran Turismo” video game and thought they would never see a real one. Last Saturday a 70+ man made the same statement. All say it is one of the coolest looking cars and the one they chose the most. I have never played the game but pulled it up on the internet and the Ford GT is listed 9 times as a choice with different variations. Surprised by how many know the car because of the game.

This past Saturday, I took my GT to the Grand Opening of the LeMay Car Museum. Arriving early, think the car was about the 4th car to arrive, all the parking attendants wanted to show me to my designated parking spot for the show. I don't think I've ever been called "sir" so many times. The lead guy for parking came over to make sure I was OK with the spot and I assured him it was fine.

During the early hours of the show, it rained off and on but that did not slow many of the spectators. After about 11a, the sun broke out and turned out to be a pretty nice day.

Have always enjoyed watching people as they look at my cars. Facial expressions range from scowls to grins of what could only be described as delight. Others, have thier face set as if cast in stone and it seems the x-ray vision is turned on as they take in most every aspect of the car. Others need that "Hands On" experience and felt compelled to measure out the rear tires by spreading out thier hand measuring from thumb to little finger and then using the other hand to finish up the task. Yep, them are some big tires...All done with a smile too. Delightful!

Some of the most eager kids/young adults were very thankful to have thier picture taken in the car and even some of the moms had a turn in the drivers seat for that quick photo op. and possibly that new screen saver.

All day long, there were many people around the car and one fellow just could not get enough of the underside of the car. Hey, whatever floats your boat...

Heard all of the comments that we usually hear about our FTG's. And, did you all know the value has skyrocketed now to well over $400K? Maybe that's just for the GT's on the show field. A nice day and was happy to make a few folks day even brighter.

How long does it take you to clean the car after it gets rained on?

Just a few minutes. Have lots of Griot's product on the car. His corporate office is just minutes away from the LeMay location. Feel compelled to use the local guys products and truth be told, the products used by me seem to work pretty well.

Thanks.

I too am a big user of Girot,s products, they have a warehouse in Indy and have hooked INDY GT on them as well. Pick my supplies at the warehouse with no shipping costs. Rain never hurts a car and to be honest it is about the only time my car sees water, most of the cleaning with Speed Shine. Last time it was truly washed was in Austin to get the 1,000,s of grasshoppers off that it collected on the way back from the Texas Mile. Junky little car wash but had a crowd watching and asking question before I got away.

I'm more of a Meguiars guy, but its simply what I know. I would assume driving the car in the rain produces a lot of clean up under the clamshell.

Not really - pretty much sealed off. And if it get's a litttle dirty, just rinse it off.

Today I was at a light and a guy in an older Taurus next to me say "hey buddy, could you rev it a bit so they can hear the engine?". I looked back and noticed two young boys in the back seat drooling. I gave it a quick rev which made them clap. Thats a first.

I went to a local car hang out a couple of weeks ago after putting in the clutch in my car I wanted to put some miles on it and so when I got there I parked my car opened up the clam and just stayed out of the way and quietly listened to people that were walking by and making comments about the car,
so this guy, this 'know it all' walks by (there is always one in every car gathering) and he started blabbering about how much he knows about the cars and how they were built in ITALY:facepalm:. I swear I just about spit out my drink as he was explaining to his older friend, and this was not some teenager or punk kid. He was a 25 to 35 year old guy that seemed to know a lot about the Gt. I told him you realize this is a ford gt right. He said yes and he continued to say that these are great cars and they were built in Italy :) Needless to say I didn't hear a thing he said after that comment I just quietly walked away!

I couldn't have handled it, soroush! I would have had to have straighten the guy out if only for the benefit of his friend who may later have passed the bad info on to someone else! :lol

(I wish I had a dollar for every time somebody pointificated that the LS6 454 in my '62 Biscayne was a "409". :bored)

I went to the local Ford dealer today to drive a Raptor. Just driving in I got folks yelling at me "nice car man!". When I parked it I probably had 4-5 people walking around it for the 30 min I was there.

I have taken our Raptor to a couple of the local car shows this spring and it does get alot of attention and you do not have to worry as much about people touching or leaning on the car. The Raptor is a great truck.

GT Venom - you should adjust the front shock spring to the non-NHTSA setting. It's the setting that design, photos, testing, etc was used. It will then look like a real desert truck. There are a few threads that have photos & Raptor info. We are hijacking this thread with Raptor talk!
