I understand that the main issue not to re-import a previously exported vehicle back to the US is the problem with the salvage, repaired cars which were exported a few years ago.
What if the car is bought at a well known dealer with a good reputation (http://www.autosalon-singen.de/en/) who certifies that the car is accident free, and backed by an independant expertise?
What else would you consider?
