Article in Austin paper about a mid air crash between 2 small planes in College Station; one being a Cirrus. The Cirrus pilot had injuries from the broken windshield but otherwise both planes landed safely; no other injuries. I'm doubting this is Chip since his extreme flying skills would have allowed him to avoid such an encounter, but there were enough comments in the article to lead me to check.

Was that you my friend? Any way I can help?

UUUhhhh, Chip's plane is in pieces (from transporation back from Texas) having experienced an engine failure at altitude and a dead stick landing. All went well and as trained for. Engine is being rebuilt.

So to allay your fears, it was most probably NOT Chip.

Biggs, where have you been on the Forum?

Indy is right, he did have a recent mishap in the air with his Glasair's engine. He also did have a Cirrus, but if memory serves, he sold it a short while back.

hope Chip is ok. he hasn't posted on this site in awhile....

Yeah, he sold the Cirrus a while ago.

Chip's fine. He sent me a couple random texts last night and I didn't even think to mention this thread.

Glad to hear all that! Chip is such a great guy and GT fanatic.

Indy I pop in and lurk on occasion. Life is great here in the ATX - still trying to find a run group to get on the F1 track!

I don't know how I missed this thread as I log on to the Forum every day. I did sell my Cirrus about a year ago and I still have my Glasair III which is down for repairs right now. My new engine will be finished by the end of this month and I can't wait to start flying again.
