I read an article awhile back about the Dubai economy and the article mentioned that the airport was being overwhelmed by high-end luxury cars that were being abandon.
I don’t recall the article verbatim, (If some else happen to read the same article please feel free to jump in and correct the story) but it mentioned that the wealthy people of Dubai were feeling the economic pressure and they too were forced with bankruptcy, but (if I recall correctly) in Dubai they place you in prison until you can fulfill you debt. With that being said a lot of very wealthy people were in financial trouble and drove their expensive car(s) to the airport and left the car behind while leaving the country.
