What a great event. I wish I lived closer. You guys in California have all the fun!
Yeh, CA has some nice attributes, but FL has it beat hands down when it comes to taxes!

Ohhhhh, the agony....

No more reminders please - it was hard enough to read that thread about sales tax and registration fees in other states....

I feel sick now, perhaps the kind of sickness Rocman felt when he realized that Dan Gurney showed up at our event and he missed it...

Hey Bony, I will follow you. Looks like we missed a great event. I did get to see Parnelli at Galpin a month or so ago. These guys do get around.

...lets take a ride down some morning, your "up and out early guy" and so am I. I just don't like driving down by my lonesome.

...any plans to make Indy, I would like to build up a transporter if possible?

Sounds good. I will give you a call so we can hook up and you can fill me in on the details. Last time I was at Indy was in 1993. I would like to do the Indy thing providing it works with my work schedule. My spray season gets busy in the first part of May. But heck, a guy has got to have a little fun now & then.

Just wanted to thank George again for organizing our GT event at Ford PAG "Cars & Coffee" event this past Saturday!

Thank you to the guys who responded to this thread and gave us a great showing of GT's. It was fun meeting more GT owners and matching some faces to the Forum.

I was also lucky enough to meet Dan and have him sign my car as well (thank you Todd for the use of your marker). Didn't know Mr. Gurney lived in Newport Beach (right around the corner from me!)

There were some pretty amazing other cars that showed as well that Saturday. Bruce Myers was there with one car from his amazing collection and Barry Meguiar was there representing with his black GT.

For those of you that couldn't make it, try some other Saturday. You never know who or what shows up.

Take Care, Jim

Is the "Cars & Coffee" a weekly event and is it held at the same location?

Yes. It is every Saturday @7am to 9am at the Ford Headquarters for the Premiere Auto Group in Irvine, CA (near Irvine Spectrum). However, on the 16th most of us are going to Flows at the Chino Airport for breakfast.

I saw two near misses with cars trying to peel out of the lot and a Boxster that almost went out of control by itself. Just remember, one accident is enough for us to get kick out and have no place to go. DON'T BE FOOLISH AND ACT LIKE TEENAGERS WHEN YOU LEAVE THE LOT. If you guys want to race, I'll see you at the track. DON'T ENCOURAGE THIS TYPE OF FOOLISHNESS.

Very well put bruce, All too often it just takes one to ruin it for a group.
I wont lie I really do enjoy watching smokey burnouts but there is a time and place for everything. possably an Empty parking lot. but not leaving in the middle of a turn.

This is a fantastic event. Half of the thrill is seeing everything under the sun on 4 wheels, or 3, or 2 showing up out of the darkness from the depths of $$ rich Orange County and filling the lot. The other half is watching the exit event around 8:30.

My first impression is NEVER PARK OPPOSITE EXIT ON GATEWAY, because after watching many idiots almost loosing it, not knowing to first point your member STRAIGHT before you let all hell let loose, some have come dangerously close to taking out a row of parked cars. Some are just plain idiots and want attention doing doughnuts or whatever.

The correct thing is point it straight, instead of hauling ass out the lot, then say bye bye with dignity :thumbsup

My intuition is that some lamah is going to do the forementioned and take out a couple of parked cars, or that some big shot Ford Exec is going to start noticing the burnout marks and trampled landscape and the fun will be done for.

I like the lack of Cops, close freeway access, and if you want to prove high speed ego, there are freeway on-ramps right there.

Keep the peace :cheers
Pete
