I'm currently searching for a GT (my first post on this forum, so I apologize in advance if this topic has already been discussed), and have noticed that GT's made for the Canadian market seem to be less desirable in the U.S. I know there are some differences (rear bumper offset being the most noticeable, the Mcintosh option, day time running lights,...), but don't quite understand why owners seem to have a harder time selling here in the states and the value is less.

Each dealer that I've contacted seems to make statements like, "The Carfax is clean and it's a U.S. car, not a Canadian", etc.

Am I missing something, or is a CDN GT actually a negative?

So say the experts here selling cars. However I don't agree. The fact is ALL the cars were made in the USA. Yes there were a very few differences between the US and Canadian cars. IMHO nothing to really make or support such a claim. But the market seems to dictate that. In fact the extra bumper part is a cost of 6000.00 US dollars. That alone makes it worth more spec to spec. It may be said that since the last batch out the factory may have been slightly better as all the bugs had been worked out by then. I believe the clearance were better on the Canadian cars. All of course in my unbiased (maybe not so much) opinion. :)

I also wonder the discrepancy between the cars. as I have two of the last ones made. #2005 #2008 and #765 #795 The latter came with a Black owners manual that says Ford GT Canadian but the last 2 bought 2005 and 2008 came with a red owners manual that says Ford GT US. I also have found out from Ford that I can get a letter regarding air bag recall to allow cars into the USA. Time needed to get letter is 24 to 48 hrs from the dealership I bought 2 from. FYI BTW I have 2 or 3 for sale as I am getting my ducks in a row for a NFGT, if I get a chance to buy one.

I would take a Canadian car.. I prefer the no mac. The bumper spacer removal is a 20 minute job and was meant to come off easy. The other stuff no one would notice, If you get a good deal on one go for it !!
