The only 2 things I remember right now are: "thicker" rear bumper (sticks out an inch or two further than a U.S.) and km speedo faces and the like.

And, I believe, all were delivered with the base stereo system due to the extra weight of the Big Mac. usmcfred

The foam reinforcement under the front facia is different also. The front and rear bumper changes were to meet Canadian 5 mph bumper laws. (2.5 mph in the states)
The Canadian cars also have daylight running lights.

Also the CDN cars have a window sticker on the drivers side in French which indicates "objects in mirror are closer than they appear".
There is an additional set of all the manuals etc. in French as well. Canadian flag sticker on the front windshield.
Funny thing that even though the speedometer shows km/hr the miles/hr numbers are still more predominate /larger.
Daytime running lights (I am not sure if that is required in all states).
It is my understanding that all CDN cars also came with the optional lighter BBS wheels and painted calipers.
No Mac and extended bumper piece are correct.
No rear fog light.
As an added touch all US are cars are PROHIBITED on the Candian import list!!

When I ordered mine I had the choice of standard or lightweight wheels. Standard wheels were available and there are a few in the registry with them.
The total imported is 277.
All 2006 model year.
The gauge cluster does have symbols instead of text which allowed Ford to get around the bi-lingual laws.
Extra foam in the nose and a bumper extension on the rear.
Daytime runnng lights.
A few french decals.
All mac delete cars. This was the weight saving to compensate for the bumper extension(8 lbs).

'Funny. I was wondering kinda the same thing: what happens if a U.S. citizen who's owned a GT for "X" amount of time moves to Canada? Can he just bring his GT? Or would he have to "Canada-ize" it first?

I believe you can import them if the mods are done to "Canada-ize" it first as the other safety feaures meet code. I know of one that is here and he left the US plates on it until he gets the the word on if he is staying(here on contract). I am hoping to find out first hand when I win the one in the Medford lottery:biggrin I will be checking with RIV(registrar of imported vehicles) to find out exactly what needs to be done.
I aggree LUV government - you can import a car with the steering wheel on the wrong side - which makes it very entertaining to pass on the left - but heaven forbid if you try to bring a car in that doesn't have daytime running lights and stronger bumpers

Not-4N while I do not know how a CDN living in the US and moves back to Canada would be affected I can assure you that one can not bring a US car into Canada and Candianize it. I also know a US car that is here. It was bought by his US company and he uses a dealer plate. He can not get it titled here in Canada.

You're comment of the gauge cluster, jogged my memory. So I looked it up in the Team History book.The Canadian version is unique with symbols. European clusters has "word" gauge labels.
Also mentioned was a statement that there were 13 re-engineered "part number" items on the Canadian cars. But it doesn't list them all.
BTW did you paint work re-do, ever get done?

Thanks Jeff I checked my history book and sure enough the pic is clear - don't know where I got that stuck in my head. Probably the same time I assumed you could import a GT, thanks 06fordgt.:thumbsup
Not sure what you mean by the paint work. The paint on my car is good, although I wish they would have wet sanded the ridge at the edge of the stripes a little better.

I just joined this forum as I'm just starting the search for a Heritage GT and here I read I can't get it into Canada....what :bs is this, I'm supposed to move from Reno to Calgary by year's end and was hoping to take a GT in with me.
So, how many Canadian delivered GT's total and how many Heritage versions, what's the premium for a Canadian car?

Are you staying in Canada? If not buy it and register it there and drive it in and enjoy. If you are moving here permanently I know of a Heritage still in the showroom but the price was 219 last I checked. I know this sounds high but please remember the Cdn dollar was worth a lot less than the US dollar when these cars came to town. Today the Cdn dollar is .03 higher than US.
There were a total of 277 brought into Canada but I am not sure how many are Heritage.

well for all you canadian gt owners like my self, keep in mind that there are only 277 of our cars out there so the value of our cars should continue to go up,i also checked the import vechicle list and they are not admissable even if modified ,thanks for all the info guys
