Bye bye side stripes

Well well! I loved my 06 with out the side stripes. So I did the same to my Red 05 GTX1
I know Camilo likes them, but not me!

Mine is the same. When I chatted with Camilo at Rally 13 he asked why I removed them. I told him the previous owner did, and I have kept it as is. His reply was humorous - "Without the side stripes, it's like Santa Claus without a belt. You wouldn't want Santa Claus without a belt, would you"?

Nothing but complete and total respect for Camilo, he's forgotten more about design than I will ever know.

That being said, we all see the world through our own lens and all have different tastes fortunately.

I've always thought the side stripes are a bit boy racer and that the FGT looks much cleaner w/o them.

I like your side stripe delete Roketman and retaining the FGTX1 logo looks good too!

I've been considering removing mine on my White/Blue stripe 05 but was concerned that the paint underneath would not match due to fade. Did you notice any of that Ron?

Have your paint correction guy or film guy do it

Mine came off years ago (black no stripe car). This was of course only after having a new OEM set unrolled and stored flat (they came from ford rolled up in small boxes).

Ron, the RED GT owners club has not received your application yet. Since your car is heavily modified I don't think you better change anything else.

I had mine removed to put full ppf on the car & it did look cool without them but i'm a new owner ,so i was chicken to leave them off, i bought two sets of stripes & we put one back on ,& i have the 2nd set as a spare .
