I have been running 32 psi and the tread wear seems to be even.

Really? How many miles on the rears? They "crown" and wear the centers at 32 all day long.

Is that 32 psi cold or after they've been run , and are warm or hot?

Around 3500 miles on the rears and the they seem to be on pace to last about 1500 more. Always measured when cold.

After only one drive on my new Bridgestones, I could not be more pleased!
My GoodYears seemed to be noisey (especially at low speeds)...now all is GOOD!

Guys Ill tell you all a secret, Ive gone to 35lbs on bridgestones and you would not believe the difference. Cold tire pressure. At 32 IMO is to low , the steering isn't as crisp and the compound on the bridgestone is a lot softer than the old goodyears. Try 35 lbs cold and report back, Denis B and I have done this for awhile, I like the results.

The roads are terrible to say the least in the north east, SoCal is paved with gold compared to here. I spoke to the gtguys and denis gave me the suggestion as the Detroit roads are about the same. The ruts are bad and the wheel is constantly jerked around. The extra 3 lbs seems to spunk up the steering instead of the dead flat pull into the ruts. Now I have 4,000 miles in 3 weeks since the new tires and they seem to wear even. Im happy and remember the compound is ALOT softer than the goodyears.
Aston Porsche all run 36 to 38 today. I would not dare on the good years, but so far so good, will report if denis just wants me to buy new tires again real soon.......
Try it seems to make me feel more comfortable...

It's very dependent upon your driving style - Aggressive driving will bump a cold 35 psig to well over 40 psig! Be careful.

[Usually, 27-28 psig cold will be 35-37 psig when driving aggressively (track).]

Thanks Joey, that makes sense with your roads and such. Come to think of it, I run 35-36 cold on the front tires of my daily drivers for years, so I guess it's not as different as I first thought when applying it to a GT.

Glad you found a solution!

I thought conventional wisdom was if you were on the track you should drop the tire pressure 3-5 lbs from the street tire, yes?

So here's the question for the rally: Does the track have a compressor or do I need to bring my wife and truck and compressor to bring them back to street pressure?

Joey, 35 psi makes the tires a very harsh ride. 32 is good, but you should try 28-30 as well. Frank

Very hard to get your tires hot on the road compared to the track.

Frank, I understand the theory, but 28 in New York is like running, RUN FLATS. You would bend wheels like a pretzel. Way to soft to me. Hey 1314 on goodyears runs fine at 32, but the overall tire is just not good anymore. The roads here are like Detroit about 6 years ago before they started reconstruction, unless your driving a 4x4, its all over.....
Thanks

Rich (of GTG) told me to run 30 cold all around. 30 cold on streets, this time of year, quickly becomes 34-35lbs. 35 would be 40. I'm good with the 30 cold.

Typically wider tires will run lower pressures because wider tires have more of a tendency to balloon and wear faster in the center. I'd be interested to see some pyrometer readings after some spirited driving. That would give a pretty good indication of how the tires will wear.
