UPDATE

Flew out to Florida yesterday to inspect the car and arrange for transport.

Here it is, should be in the West by next weekend. Looks cool, sounds like a UPS truck on crack.

Miller Motorsports Park, here I come.

Yes, you read correctly. The lovely Porsche GT3 is shortly to go to a new home, and in its place will be a red Viper ACR. ...

I thought you were getting a RED one???

So did I. Turns out my source ordered two from the same southern dealer, and the black came in first. I might add, ahem, that the red car was promised "within weeks" of the date I gave my deposit, which was in April :bored

When the black car came in, I asked how much longer I would have to wait for my red one. "Oh, just a couple a weeks I reckon" was the answer. Translation: no time in the immediate future, as the plant shuts down during July. I also understand that they produce the colors in batches, so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see red 'uns for quite awhile.

So, I pulled the trigger on the Vader version, and I'm glad that I did. I think I actually like it more than the red. Plus, I wouldn't want the Viper to be as fast as my RED GT:biggrin

That house in Sarasota has more cars pass thru it than all the car lots in Sarasota.

Great looking car Mitty. I think I speak for others when I say that we expect one of your good comparison reviews of the ACR with the Ford GT and 430. Probably apples and oranges but I enjoy reading your reviews!:biggrin

Looking forward to your comparisons. I see you mentioned sold the GT3. I take it you preferred your F430 to it ?
