My brakes aren't working so well, so I made my horn louder.

Another great idea

Thanks Ron, Working on the project with my Friend Bill concurrently.

Well .... we're waiting. :eek:ld:

What did you ultimately do with your brake setup?

Please share.

Does your new brake setup fit in the stock BBS rims?

Thanks for sharing.

I shipped him a set of the custom Brembo rotors as reference in this thread and Pagid pads as such he is golden.

BTW; yes OEM wheels fit just fine

Little late on this post but there are some simple things as well in taking care of brakes at the track.

1. Cool downlap- go around the track slower (to the point you do not have to use the brakes) on the last lap so brakes have a chance to cool
2. When you come to a stop DO NOT apply your hand brake when parking or stopping

Simple but important for those with no track experience

Guys,

What would be the anticipated cost for a complete set of front & rear calipers and rotors as fitted to Stormcat's GT?

Thank you for all the replies, advice and suggestions.

Conclusion.

In keeping the Ford factory Brembo calipers, I think changing out the rotors and pads is a good decision.
1. When you need new pads.
2. or when your rotors crack.

The best setup ... if you are tracking/racing. Stillen AP Racing 6P BIG brake setup.

1. Considering cost
2. maintaining the Ford Factory setup & look
3. if you are NOT frequently tracking/racing ... less than 3 times a year.

A. Brembo slotted two piece rotor setup, no cross drilled holes.
B. Pagid yellows = endurance racing pad. Pagid blues for cold weather - ha not us in AZ
C. Shadowman/GT Guy brake duct setup
D. DOT 4 brake fluid
E. Titanium shim set from Don & Wally, www.fordgtparts.com

RE: Factory OEM Brembo brake pads.

According to www.fordgtparts.com

The OEM pads are labeled as Brembo with a Ferodo backing plate. A nice shim and carbon metallic compound.
OEM pads wear pretty quick on track weekends at heavy braking tracks, but the compound is rotor friendly.

Shadowman or someone else: can you pm me the price on the front rotor setup?

Depending on how much it is, I am leaning towards just spending the $3500 on the AP Racing setup.

The AP brakes as furnished by Stillen are "well" in excess of $3500.00; in fact approximaltey double. You "need" to change the front and the rear brakes if going with the AP brake system to maintain the brake bias.

Email me and I will get you the details on the Brembo rotor setup
