I wanted to add a small amount of color to my black BBS 10 spoke wheels. I used this translucent paint from Dupilcolor over the stock center caps.. You can still see the Ford GT logo and the brushed Alum. look on the original cap.. I did a set of red for the Red car and blue for the Tungsten car.. I know it's not for everyone but I like it..:wink

very creative I like it,:thumbsup I wonder If it could be done on a bigger scale, the whole wheel for example, you get a candy black thats like a tinted color where the original color of the wheel is also apparant from under the candy paint, it would look different.

Automotive painters are doing the same thing by adding some coloring tint to clear coats. You can get the same effect for large scale projects.. This stuff is good for small scale DIY projects..:thumbsup

Im in contact with a local guy here that says he can powder coat in candy colors, he puts down a base coat then the candy on top, the sample I saw dont have the effect were talking about, but they are interesting looking, it looks more like an anadizing finish, I may try it with the extra standard wheel I have, I will post pic when done but it will be a while.

sounds cool... I'v e seen a local powder coater do the same thing . They really need to watch the build up of material . It doesn't take much to have the shades vary.. We'll be waiting for some photos,,:thumbsup

Well, I guess that's one way to solve the brake dust problem.
