I was on the phone with Camilo when I read it and told him. He was stunned because she was the big judge on that upcoming reality show he's on. Bummer.
Automobile usually seemed to have the best or at least most interesting writing despite the lack of "numbers" tests.

Yep...As Dave noted, the writing was a cut above the road test numbers mags.
Over the years, as the mags have become homogenized, I've whittled my subscriptions to two...Automobile and C/D.
We'll be relying more than ever on w mitty for great writing.

Massive bloodletting at Source Interlink today, some magazines cut, lots of staff let go, many friends on the street. Back in my magazine days I was on the "circuit" with David E, later became very friendly with Jean. David E's original intent was to model Automobile after CARS magazine in UK. The quality of writing at Automobile has been first class. Bottomline is that Source Interlink has been in trouble for some time and its debt is actually owned by a NYC Hedge Fund. They pretty much own the company. Since I've been a print publication junkie for decades will continue to read most magazines.

No wonder they had to lay off all those people. Look how much they spent on that extravagant entryway.
With people becoming more and more accustomed to free content on the web, I'm afraid the auto magazine business is a buggy whip industry.
