The DB9 also has a far better interior than the Vanquish...

Amen to that. The Vanquish, while cool looking outside, was really let down by its Ford parts bin interior...Jaguar/Lincoln door pulls, Cougar/Mondeo trip computer, etc.

The current AM's have gorgeous interiors.

You know the funny thing? Well, let me tell you the brief story....

So I had the walnut done - when it went in I mentioned to Aston that I had left the umbrella that comes with the Vanquish in a restaurant in France and would they replace it? The umbrella is a regular golf umbrella with an aluminium handle, it is held under the trunk lid by two velcro straps.

I get my car back - the invoice goes roughly something like this:

1. Labour to remove interior trim $10,000
2. Walnut trim $20,000
3. Aston umbrella $250
4. Labour to fit umbrella $24.

:lol:lol

I was not amused - $24 labour on a $30,000 invoice for opening two velcro straps??

Did they give you a plaque of the guy that hung your umbrella for you? Personalized service.

Aaaaaaah, but you've forgotten, sir. It was necessary to CLOSE those straps back up again.:rolleyes

I wouldn't have been amused either!!! :mad In fact, the check ("cheque":wink) I'd have written would have been SHORT that $24 (PLUS the tax) just to illustrate the point in language they'd have been able to understand.

There was just NO excuse for that...

(Lemme guess. You've done significant REPEAT business with them since?)

:biggrin

Exactly so. I never used them again, not before making my feelings quite clear on the subject.
