saw a matte black 430 challenge at the challenge race (laguna seca) last weekend. car took a hit in the left rear and the wrap still looked VERY good. i mean you could see tears in it but it wasn't like it was frayed and peeling off or anything.
EDIT: also saw my first GT with a gurney bubble.

I hear you...it seemed like everyone and their mother was doing it on a Murcie or F430 for a while. In dubai you're guaranteed to see every exotic in matte black at some point (including phantoms, maybachs,etc); but in the US I haven't seen it that often. Granted, when lambo makes it a factory color its probably out of style...
White does seem to be a popular color now...esp for the 560
