Anyone recommend a certain garage alarm?

Would ratching tie downs with towels on the rims do the trick?

'Short answer; yes.

But, in a quake zone, I wouldn't wanna leave even a secured car in the FULL "up" position on a hoist anyway for several reasons.

(I also live in a quake zone, and, tied down or not, I refuse to "stack" my cars.)

Well, pending an inspection, the car should be mine and on its way tomorrow. Which got me thinking, I need a garage alarm. I've done some searching, but wonder if anyone here recommends one brand or setup over the other. It would be cool to have a camera or something to check through the phone if the alarm goes off. Not a necessity though.

Thanks for the help!

Whatever alarm you choose be sure to take the $0.99 security measure of zip tying your door's emergency release handle/cord to the slider. Thievery made easy with a coat hanger, plus many folks leave the interior door to their garage unlocked so when the garage door is breached, then access to the whole house is easy.

Here's a video that clearly shows the danger

Thats good advise. I had been told to remove the cord so they cant just break the glass and pull it, but with the coat hanger that is nifty. I just secured it, but I'm thinking of trying something more permanent should they decide to break the glass and just cut the ziptie.
