After having owned offshore boats for years.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND A SAIL BOAT
I totally agree - the fuel cost for a 40'-50' offshore rig is about equal to a the lawyers' fees in a divorce (daily). And, I doubt if the wife would enjoy the pounding when truly putting it through it's paces. Hell, most men can't take it (If you do, get some life vests from Lifeline!! - and kidney belts)
A used sailboat would be a much better investment (never buy a new one - I think they lose half their purchase price in the first year). They have plenty of room and are much better for hosting dockside parties.
I never owned a sailboat, but have plenty of friends that do....
Stand, fully dressed, under your shower at home with the water on cold - . Whilst being soaked, get out a wad of $100 bills, tear these up - maybe tear up 50 of them to begin with.
Do it each day for two weeks
If you really enjoyed it - get a boat. :biggrin
There's another old saying 'if it flies, floats or f**ks- rent it'!
Absolutely!! Right On! - Take it from a boat owner....
