Not my cup of tea.

With 6000+ built they will never be collectable. Just like the XKE where 17000 were produced, they are anything but rare.

I seem to remember a member who owned a delorean storage and parts in Florida. Could this be one in the same?

Inquiring minds need to know.

This is old news. You could purchase a new 1980's DeLorean built from left over parts 3 years ago, and they were $45,000 then.

'Owned one in '82. 'Was a GREAT car to drive ...but my lawn mower could outrun it. 'Having come from a '70 Chevelle SS 454, LS-6, 450 horse "ride", the DMC was just toooooooo sloooooooooow ...and I sold it.

(I mean, come on ...135HP? [or whatever it was] Now! With a Buick Grand Nat'l Turbo V-6 in it ...!!!!!!!!! :eek:eek:eek :banana)

8,300 cars

I know a lot about this ordeal. There were 8,300 cars originally produced (1981-82). I happened to own an '83 (the rarest) at a purchase price of $19,600 (I had a friend that worked for DeLorean) since it was supposed to be $34,000. I sold it 21 years later for $18,600. The 130 HP engine just wasn't enough to make it go as a sports cars should. 180 HP would have been great (at the time). It did have tremendous bottom end though.

Too much to mention here. Contact me for more info.
