Ive recently become rather interested in a FGT after several Lambo owners Im familar with have owned and raved about them. Ive seen several and sat in a few, but have never rode in one. I was suposed to get a FGT as a loaner for a few weeks since Lambo Chicago has been dragging their arse with my Diablo for the last 5 months since they f*cked up the bumper respray, but the sales manager axed that at the last minute unless I was willing to make a deal on the car, a car Ive never seen or driven. Im sick of dealing with them and never ending trips in for repairs of this Italian POS and am looking for something faster and FAR FAR FAR more reliable.
Is there anyone around the Indianapolis area that could take me for a ride sometime, or dare I even ask allow me to drive it some?? I dont want to buy a car Ive never driven and wish to see if it ignites the passion driving it that Im looking for. I would be more than glad to return the favor and let you drive my Diablo 6.0 when it comes back from Chicago in a couple of weeks :)

Sell the Diablo and get a GT.

There are a few here who have Murci's and find the GT, superior to a Murci.

You will not regret the GT: Ford Super Duty Truck engine with Ricardo race tranny, Mayflower race chassis, Saleen assembly and even a warranty on some unsold MSO cars.

here is one

Whilst I obviously can't speak for him, Bill Dickie (Indy GT) was an absolutely tremendous help to me a couple of weeks ago when I bought my GT sight unseen from Penske Chevrolet in Indianapolis. Bill went to the Dealer, gave me a comprehensive report and was generally a 'prince among men' about the whole process. I'd never even sat in one or driven one, but having lusted after the GT /GT40 since I was about 16, I figured it would be a fantastic car - I was right!
Having owned Ferraris and other 'exotics' I can tell you that the GT is a completely different experience - someone (Jeremy Clarkson?) referred to it as the "blue collar supercar" and that is a dead-on description - no pretensiousness, no fancy stuff, just all the basics with fabulous engineering where it counts and everyday build quality elsewhere so you're not constantly scared of introducing tiny flaws and defects by actually driving the thing. I think this is why GTs tend to get modified so much - they are a real car-lovers car and are just desperate to be hot-rodded or upgraded - and it's all relatively do-able if you've got a good set of wrenches.
Bottom line; don't worry about driving before purchase etc - just buy the damn thing and you will never regret it!

Ford Super Duty Truck engine...

Not exactly- I don't recall any aluminum block, dry sump, 550 HP truck motors!

Yea, Punch is right. Our engine although it may posess the same 5.4L swept cylinder volume is NOT anything close to the 5.4L Ford truck engine. The FGT MOD 5.4L engine is specific only to the GT. (and it is not the same as the MOD 5.4L in the GT500 either).

DC33, I would be happy to help you! Always happy to help a newcomer experience the magic of these cars. Texas Mongrel is obviously pleased and he bought his sight unseen. Glad you are happy with your car, she is a beauty!

These cars are an engineering marvel with extraordinary performance (even stock) and timeless beauty. Once you own one, you will experience the passion we all share for our gals. I will send you a PM to get together to give you that purchasing nudge. You will not regret it....

OK, you have not activated PM privileges so you PM me with contact info...

You have to blame Jeremy Clarkson.....

He said something about the SVT Lightening Truck

no ride necessary, bought mine sight unseen, and never been happier with a car, I think this will resemble most everyone on this forum.

I actually found Soroush's car.

I had a Ford Dealer list of 50 Black cars, and told him to call all of them.

wow! you guys are very friendly here :)

Im not 100% ready to sell the Diablo quite yet until I decide on what I want. I had been looking for over a year for a 6 speed LP640 and only came across two, the rest were for the limp wristed posers that cant drive and thus had Egear. Cant find a decent and reasonbly priced Carrera GT either. So the FGT is looking to be a very good option based on price, performance, reliabilty, easy of moding, lack of snob apeal, and a presumed raw, brutal, pure, hardcore driving experience :)

If the FGT makes me not want to drive the Diablo its days will be numbered. The Diablo did that to my poor NSX.

btw, I prefer white w/ blue stripes, and Ive seen a few around for sale :)
would consider blue w/ whit stripes too :)

Indy GT, you'll be getting PM soon :)

Yes, I resemble that remark. Bought mine sight unseen, Kendall picked it up & performed a number of mods on it, and I never drove it stock. The new car excitement has always worn off for me, sooner or later. For the first time, not the case with the FGT. :banana

DC33, buy it! You'll only regret it if you don't and you may not realize this kind of value again, anytime soon. A unique American legend with an incredible heritage and heart pounding performance.

DC33 Stand by for intercept..

And yes we are a friendly group without snob attitude. At least that is what I have been told by others who belong (or belonged) to other car groups.
