I love that orange Mirage so much I nearly paid the rediculous price tag for it.

How about Viper Green a la 997 RS?

Have you got a price yet. Do you think we could get a deal for 2?:thumbsup

Viper Green with black stripes would also look cool...

The chrome Ferrari :eek scares me. :wink

I have never seen a wrapped car in person but the photos always look good. Can you see the seams in person? How well does it clean?

Oh no! Not another color thread...

Actually I am thinking of having my GT wrapped in custom printed vinyl. It preserves the paint, lasts for 2-3 years and gives you total freedom.

So imagine you could have your GT in ANY color scheme AND that you can always returned it back to your beloved original one...

So how would you have it?

I thought abt flat black.... but it's getting a little common...

Then I always loved the orange 720 Mirage....

What do you think? C'mon show me your creativity... :wink

You should also contact SilverSurfer as he had his car wrapped. His is the matt black / flat black one I believe. Shadowman might know something about it too since he wrapped the exhaust on it. I only suggest this as IF his car was wrapped with any computer cut vinyl, it might be easier to get a copy of the program than write a new one. OTOH, his car may have been done by hand, in which case you're at the mercy of your vinyl guy, but it never hurts to ask.

As for colour, matt black may be played out in Cali, but everywhere else I still think it looks HAWT. However, if you can get it done in the Mirage 720 Orange, well that's a winner in my eyes. :thumbsup Will the raised paint stripes cause any bumpy look issues (or difficulty getting the vinyl to stay down between the paint and the raised paint edge)?? EDIT - never mind this question, I can see the 'hidden' stripes on Ben's (Silversurfer's) car (I assume that's his as posted by Balfas on page 1).

Love the black with matt black.

This car looks a bit more special though, very much lower with side skirt treatment?

Definitely lowered...but i dont think it has any body treatments. I think its more that because the car is black the side skirts blend in

One thing to be VERY careful of with these wraps is who does the work.

In 2005 I built a custom show truck that was to be debuted at SEMA. I had all of my sponsors logos done by a wrapper because the quality is better than decals and it looks better in my opinion. The truck had just come out of a 6 week paint process three days prior to this guy doing the work. I was debuting a new "brushed aluminum" paint from Alsa paint Corp. Unfortunately the wrapper put four razor blade cuts in my paint. Each one was about one to two inches in length. I immediately confronted him as he was doing work on some of our other vehicle's and he swore up and down that it was impossible because they don't even use razor blades......There was a razor blade right next to him...

The name of this company is Ape Wraps and they are based out of Southern California I believe. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!

If you do decide to go with something like our orange car you will want to use House of Kolors Tangelo Orange as a sample. That is the paint that we used so your wrapper can have an idea of what we did.

Hi Matteo
I think the orange from the Mirage GT will be the best. An also nice colour would be the original from Porsche exclusiv department called pearlorange or orangenperlenrot a mix between orange and red...
If you wanna go for matt than enjoy the pics from the link above its mainly for ferraris but maybe you get an idea what could be possible in combination with stripes (look under Black Miracle)

Thank you very much for the info about the colour!

I am pretty set with the idea of going orange.

The pictures of the orange car on the front page are actually of the Avro Mirage 720 (marketing idea in 2007 to sell the last 10 FGTs) and the color is a Ford Europe color which is called Electric Orange.

I have seen the car in person and it was stunning.

The only problem is that the color is a metallic 3 coat color and it would be difficult to replicate.

I have not been able to see a high res picture of your car (just the ones on your website) but it looks like the hue is slightly different.

I love your car as well and now with the color info I can get 2 different samples and see which one turns out better on the vinyl.

On a last note I could not agree with you more about choosing the wrapper carefully!
