I hope the driver is ok. Don't know who the car belongs to.

Was on I-285 Sunday AM at 7:30...and from a distance saw a Red sportscar on a flatbed. As I got closer.....it was a GT. Damn. What a mess. Looks like the Rover and the GT met suddenly, although that is only speculation.

considering the damage the Ford GT did to the rover I would say that the car is pretty safe considering it looks high speed and the cabin wasn't warped to where the driver or passenger would be killed.

It looks like both front passenger corners of the cars hit. The passenger side door you can see is a little warped. We cant really see the passenger side of the car so who knows how much of the car caved in, but from the driver side everything looks safe. How is that car so beautiful even when its wrecked?

what town and state?

I'd say that how well the GT held up should be reassuring to all you GT owners out there. Car damage is one thing, but it looks like the important thing (riders) survited without much harm.

If the flatbed was heading North, undoubtedly heading to GTJoey.

That is always a sad sight to see...

Ouch, that hurts to see that.

:ack

It's not just the damage to a beautiful car that we all love (with, hopefully no driver and passenger damage), it's that awful sinking feeling that the owner must have had. The wrecked dream....

Very sad.

Hope the driver's OK......

Passenger's side front wheel is missing.....

There are two red owners from Atlanta that I know of. Hopefully this isn't one of them! :frown

from the looks of the stickers on the gt's windshield, i would think these cars were picked up by their insurance companies and are on their way to an insurance auction.
i doubt very much that they were involved in the same accident

You can't say that without having seen the accident and energyflow into the chassis. Looks like the front has been ripped off forward facing, there is no compression like on a frontal crash. Probably spun, and hit something like a telephone pole on the passenger side drifting backwards. The side we see is not the impact side.
It's an accident like opening a beer.. the bottle usually remains unharmed..Once saw that happening on a Ferrari in a tunnel. It happened to be my Ferrari, and the guy was taking a testdrive with his girlfriend.
Was correct enough to confirm purchase on the spot, I had it fixed for him perfectly, and we became friends from there on..
Porsche Driver. Thought he knew it all, right then, right there. :bored Porsche Drivers.. put them in a midengine car, and see em fly off to destiny. :rofl

Salvage auction

Based upon the writing on the windscreen, this appears to be a salvage dealer hauling home his booty! Just my $0.02. Atlanta has a large number of dealer and salvage auctions.

Sorry about the ditto remark, I just now caught Sam the Jeepman's comments!
