I was recently invited to a party at the Miami Supercar Rooms where the guest of Honor was Cleo Shelby. The host of the party Elo is a fellow Brit so he said it was easy to get her to come to the party !!
Tomy H. will tell you she is a real personable person and was fun to be around and to share stories. She likes to hear your stories and she told me some nice stories about her and Carroll.
I had the pleasure to meet Carroll at Rally 2 in Newport Beach. We had our party at the Peterson Museum and Carroll and Cleo were there, Cleo Remembered the evening and I was more that happy to get a picture with the Legend .. I took a copy of the picture and Cleo signed it for me..
We talked about the Ford GT's new and old and some mutual friends we have in the GT world.. Most notably Tomy and Sue Hamon, and Camilo.. Cleo has Camilo do a lot of art work for her when she needs it. !!
I have a Carroll Shelby signed piece in Helenor and she enjoyed hearing the story that I named the car after the Eleanor Mustang and my mom Helen and by a pure twist of fate the certificate was dated Fed 14 2007.. February 14th was my moms Birthday !!
She liked that story and enjoyed seeing my signature collection.. She told me of one the reasons Carroll was not a big Enzo fan and some of her personal car stories..
Billy Johnson was also in attendance and his 2017* #2 black Heritage GT took the super car award ..* Go figure.. !!
