Assuming there will be approximately 750 NFGT's built over a three year period-plus, would this then mean at least a three year model run of 17, 18 and 19 models. And, will Ford accept all applications for the entire production (coming up soon one hopes) all at once, or if not, when the first two hundred fifty for a 2017 (lucky one's) have been chosen, will the whole application process start all over again for the following year(s). In the mean time I'm going to :chill:

If I had to guess... I would say it would be a one time process... maybe all chosen will be placed on a list and given a number. When your number comes up you go make your deal.

I doubt they will commit to anything past 1 year of production since no spec or price exists for any more than one model year at a time. If you're asking if you have to apply again or will your application carry over that can only be answered once the application process known. But, don't you think it would be a little unfair to someone who is interested in 2018 to not be able to get a car because they didn't sign up in 2016?

Ford seems to be trying to be pretty savvy about this so maybe they have researched others with similar situations. Here is how the Grand Canyon lottery works: At t0 (the first time you sign up, or after your last "trip", which resets the clock) you start off with 1 point [as would be the case with this application]. If you don't get chosen this year, then next year when you apply you get a point for your last year, building up over time. So in the case of the NFGT, for 2018 cars, having signed up for a 2017 (and not gotten one) might get you extra bonus points as well. We'll see...

I meant to add, the unsuccessful applicants for the first year will be first in line for the next year, with something like the preference point system for big game tags.

There are no right hand drive NFGTs. This was stated early on.

Nope X2.. They didn't make one of our cars and they made 4038 of those.. didn't make any economic sense then and the situation would be worse with this model.. Someone did ask and the answer was no,,
The molds and the construction process are the limitations of Production. They only have one cockpit mold. Making a cockpit mold and dash assembly for a right hand drive makes no economic sense at such low volumes..

From a very good source.. Multimatic can make 1 car a day X 5 days a week X 50 work weeks in a year = 250 cars per year.. and according to that source " we are not working weekends "..:biggrin

I think the simple logic would be:
1) Do an application process for a set window of time. After that no more applications would be allowed.
2) Sequence the selected applications in order per the Ford weighted criteria.
3) Once the production process and initial car output established contact the first retail customers from the application list to start the purchase process.
4) Ford would continue down the list until all of the projected car production is matched up with a selected applicant.

I'm sure it will work that way as even someone who signed up and gets selected to be one of the chosen few may change their minds. But the devil in the details is all in #2.

Stormcat and Awsum GT are most likely right on the application process, makes perfect sense to me. Since I am the consummate optimist, I will have to take a chance, on taking a chance, although I may not have a chance, better to take a chance, for I may never have a chance again :willy

Kind of sounds like it :lol but not really...there is always the 'R' and the RS, or even both, with enough left over to buy another nice 05/06 :biggrin

That's how it was explained to me. As long as I'm told I have an allocation sometime this year, I'm happy to wait til 2018/19 to get the car.that actually might be preferable so it gives time toget the bugs out of production.
