I am the original owner of my 2006 and have repleced the air bag under warrenty within tha past year. Now ( of course) the second air bag has the same issues (clouding of the emblem). Are there any updates on some way to correct this ? New emblem ? some kind of sticker ? Seems futile to simply replace it again from the same deficient gene pool. Thank you

Seems to be more of an issue on the "garage queen" cars. I drive mine regularly...rain or shine and not a spot on the emblem. I bought one in NY that the gentleman was very particular about and never drove it.....had a couple of small spots on it. Lesson here......drive the car!!:cheers

I am also on my second replacement under warranty but the warranty will expire next month so no third air bag under warranty for me. :ack KDO GT has had his car for two years with the same amount of mileage but has never had an issue so I wonder if this is a mid to late 06 issue as well as all the replacements having the same issue. Can anyone tell us if they have had any 05 cars return the airbag under warranty due to discoloration????? Does anyone have any pictures of an airbag that has been deployed??? I have some ideas that I am working on with the emblem but I really need to know how the front of the airbag comes apart for safety reasons. I have been able to see how the unit is assembled but really need to know how it comes apart during deployment.

I have seen a few folks that have installed an overlay decal; you do not want to use a machined button as it would become a projectile should the airbag deploy.

I am on my 3rd airbag all replaced under warrentee. :frown My late 2006 is driven and not a garage queen.:driving: It is now out of warentee and I have no confidance that the emblem will hold up any better than the first 2. :frown I would be interested in a different solution that is not a projectille if one is devolped.:skep

We are working on a replacement decal that will look real close to identical. Should have something complete soon after the rally

How about a mirror image of "Ford GT" on raised lettering. Then if the air bag ever deploys you have have a memorable embossment on your chest to forever remind you of the event.

Airbag steering wheel

What's the status with these.

Has anybody found a resolution?

I found this post on the Shelby forum.

A sticker overlay sounds like the most practical solution.

I found the sticker guy that a lot of Shelby owners are buying from.

Shelby forum members state that he will make anything.

Were a GT sticker made to look identical to the original, I would definitely buy one as my steering wheel hub discoloured many years ago.
