Late summer I installed an Accufab X pipe and in early December I decided to go with a rear bumper delete. Little did I know at the time a new shorter exhaust pipe would be needed.:ack The sound that this exhaust puts out is outstanding as well as very good looking. Had it not been for doing the rear bumper delete this exhaust would definitely remain on my car. This exhaust sells for $1,500 please PM me if you are interested and I will work with all forum members. Please check out there site for all the information on the pipe and the ease of installation. http://www.accufabracing.com/ford_gt.htm

That is my intent, when I get around to the Bumper Delete.

Is there a problem or issue if Accufab pipes were cut shorter?

This is very hard to do with the results looking right, IMO. John did a great job with this exhaust design with the u-bends leaning back to maximize clearance with the clamshell, etc. The trouble is that this "lean" places the bottom radius very far rearward which is great for bumpered cars... but when cutting it off you are back into this radius. I think that the Ida has the same "problem" as does the Stillen.... though I believe Stillen was working on a RBD version. The Heffner exhaust uses a more upright design of the u-bends and therefore Jason was able to add an RBD version more easily.

Kendall,

Thanks for the info.

I will do some close measurments and observations to see if it is doable and still look acceptable.

Fred, my pleasure. Figure that the RBD will require you to trim approximately 5.25" off of the tips. This is a good ballpark figure.

So Kendal If I was to a RBD - could I cut 5.25" out of the Heffner pipe and reweld the tips?
