Both the Goodyear & Bridgestone tires can't hold candle to the stickiness & price of the Hoosiers. High HP - get the Hoosiers. Especially if you live in a dry climate. I've driven on them for 6 years with not one problem other than they spoil you. You'll never settle for squeely wide treaded tires again.

Ed

PS I wrecked my GT also but it's now as good as new.
PPS Call Shelby GT - he can help you!

Here they take our license and give us a FAT ticket if we drive with slicks outside the track.
Ed, when you drive with the Hoosiers, doesn't they send up allot of gravel and small stones when going slicks?

When I drive the GT-R with R888 ( closest to slicks legally with the MPSC ) they send up everything that is not stuck to the tarmac.
Maybe you have clean roads over there...

GUYS BRIDGESTONES OR PIRELLS ? I KINDA INTO THE PRELLI SIDE but as gt sweden say and everyone i trust you guys and think im gona go for a change as soon as the baby is fixed which i also think im not gona drive alot anyways lol

I would say it depends entirely on what available from Pirellis that will fit these days and prob of course what's avail locally. While yes its possible to import tires, I have on more than one occasion, its a pain in the back side. Best advice is take a front and rear wheel to a good local tire supplier(I'm sure there are enough in Kuwait with the popular luxury car market there) and ask what they can source using your wheels as a guide or check the sizes and profiles that will work using a site like tirerack.com.

Hoosier R6s are DOT legal tires. They are not full on slicks. I've driven on the road with Goodyear G19s which are real slicks. Hoosiers have 2 parallel grooves with wear bars to visually detect wear & comply with Fed/State laws even though Hoosier puts a warning on their tires (mostly for wet & road hazard reasons). Pirelli Pilot Sport Cups are OEM for some cars & they are similar to the R6s except they add a little shallow tread on half the tire that wears quickly away leaving a Hoosier R6 looking tire with 2 grooves. I would use the Pilot Sport Cups if they had a size that would be exact as the OEM size. Yes, more road/track debris are picked up by sticky tires. I have lots of clear protective film on the car & change it a lot. It's worth it for the amazing traction benefit.

PS We are kind of hijacking firdgtkwt's thread.

Thanks Ed! I think fordgtkwt is cool about us hijacking his thread a little ;)

Agree with you on the Pilot Sport Cups, they are a standard tire on the GT3 RS and the GT2 and they are really good street/track day tires.

Pilot Sport Cups are Michelin, not Pirelli.

Opps - I meant Michelin. Lucky "Pilot Sport Cup" is a well known tire.

oz gt just saw ur video amazing gt you got there , but they hammerd it in the video ! its torcher man

but about the tires plz have a look at the hre s101 and s104 those r the closest to stock ive seen
tell me wat you think

Both those HRE current models you list are quite a ways from the stock BBS look IMHO. the s101's have the hex bolts all the way around them to start with. Plus the shaping and styling of spokes is quite different to stock. I'm sure they would look nice on a GT as they are quite a tasteful wheel. The s104's are totally nothing like stock with their spoke spacing. Don't think they'd suit the GT at all. As was mentioned in another thread, which you posted in, regarding the HRE 844R's, although stated as discontinued, if you spoke to HRE directly, it's poss they may still make a set to order.

When we have cruises, nobody wants to follow the cars with Hoosiers. Mostly Vipers around here.
